Sons Of Anarchy Creator Not Surprised By Johnny Lewis' Death
By Mack Rawden 2 years ago
Like the rest of us, Sons Of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter was horrified when he heard about Johnny Lewis’ alleged murder and suicide, but apparently, he wasn’t the least bit surprised by what happened. Those who knew the actor best reportedly watched him head down a really troubling path over the past few years, and sadly, that path allegedly led him to beat an old woman to death, attack two men with a piece of wood and end his life by jumping off a roof.
In a long, honest and touching statement via his WhoSay account earlier today, Sutter expressed his frustration for what happened, his hope for what may come from this and his thoughts on the bizarreness of it happening just a few days after Sons Of Anarchy killed off one of its characters…
”not sure if folks know this yet, but johnny lewis (halfsack) died last night. the sad irony of it happening two days after opie's death is not lost on me. it was a tragic end for an extremely talented guy, who unfortunately had lost his way. i wish i could say that i was shocked by the events last night, but i was not. i am deeply sorry that an innocent life had to be thrown into his destructive path. yes, it's day or mourning, but it's also a day of awareness and gratitude. sadly, some of us carry the message by dying.”
According to TMZ, that “destructive path” Sutter referred to included a recent burglary arrest, a stint in rehab, a bust for allegedly sucker punching a man outside a yogurt shop and a stint in jail that ended just five days ago. It's unclear whether he was on probation or currently under any sort of supervision, but those details will no doubt come out within the next few days.
Pop Blend’s sincerest well-wishes go out to all those affected by this devastating tragedy.
