Twilight Is Back, Who Is The Greatest Vampire Ever?

It’s been a good day for vampires. The new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 made its online debut, and pictures emerged of Johnny Depp’s utterly strange costume for the Dark Shadows reboot. One of those items was better received by fans than the other, but in the world of the undead, any publicity is good publicity.

With so much blood-sucking hoopla, arguments broke out amongst the Pop Blend staff over each of our favorite vampires. Some of us prized hotness above all else, others vicious aggression and still others legacy. It’s not like baseball where you can just point to statistics and make a logical case. One’s chosen vampire is a matter of personal taste. That being said, I’m still of the opinion that a right answer can be ascertained from such discussions. That’s why I’m turning it over to you.

Who is the greatest vampire ever? Dracula’s shadow may cast itself over all who came after, but have some risen from his wake eclipsed Bram Stoker’s creation in overall greatness? Is Edward Cullen a teen lit joke or does he actually have the fangs to rival Anne Rice’s greatest creations Lestat and Louis? And what about True Blood? Can Bill Compton hold a candle to Count Orlok?
