Usher And Darius Rucker Sign On For Blake Shelton's Tornado Relief Concert
In just a couple of days, Blake Shelton and a bunch of his friends and peers will put on an epic concert event called the “Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert.” After tornadoes ripped across Oklahoma earlier this month, Shelton was looking for a way to help, and was able to quickly and efficiently put together a relief concert to help those in need after the major disasters. Now, two more names have been added to the already lengthy lineup for the event. Usher and Darius Rucker have both signed on to perform.
Usher may seem like an unlikely choice, considering most of the other performers during this week’s show will be associated with country music. However, he and Shelton have spent plenty of time together working on The Voice and it’s not a huge surprise the singer would want to get involved in a project like the “Healing in the Heartland” endeavor. Joining Usher, Rucker, and Shelton are Reba McEntire, Shelton’s wife Miranda Lambert, the Rascall Flats, Luke Bryan, Vince Gill, and OneRepublic band member Ryan Tedder.
Even prior to the announcement that Usher and Rucker would join the spectacle, people were stoked about attending the “Healing in the Heartland” event. Tickets sold out super quickly. McEntire even spoke out to note that concert tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday and were sold out 30 seconds later. You may not have been one of the lucky few that was able to get your hands on a ticket, but luckily, the event will also be aired live on NBC starting at 9 p.m. ET on May 29 and will also be aired on other stations throughout the evening, including Style, G4, Bravo, E! and CMT.
Shelton and co. have been pretty good about updating fans via Twitter, so keep your eyes peeled for “Healing in the Heartland” news over the next couple of days.
