Earlier this week, Avril Lavigne was in Brazil performing for a large crowd when a female enthusiast did her best rhino impression on the pop star. Avril was lost in the moment, preparing to cover Coldplay's “Fix You” when she turned to see the lady dashing toward her with arms outstretched. Security intercepted the girl gone wild just before she did whatever she was going to do to the “Complicated” singer but prior to Avril letting out an epic shriek.

Video of the incident has made its way online, and shockingly, many fans are complaining about the musician's behavior. I don't get it. Yes, celebrities owe a certain amount of courtesy to the fans who support their artistic endeavors, but those interactions should not be impromptu stormings of the stage. According to Oh No They Didn't, the security guard who apprehended the young woman was Avril's brother Matt. He's a constant companion to Lavigne and always travels with her on tour. After the singer regained her composure, the concert moved forward, and she continued the song. What a champ.

No word yet on what the crazy woman's fate might be, but seeing as how she's a female, I bet this won't be more than a slap on the wrist. If this same incident had happened with a man, he'd probably still be in jail. Not that I'm complaining, it's just a fact.
