Rapper/producer Pharrell Williams has created an entertainment website for teens to encourage young fans to read the news.

The hip-hop star, who has produced hits for Madonna, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, is using his celebrity contacts to generate content on Kidult.com. The online venture features reporting on politics, technology, health, fashion, science, business, environmental issues, sports, gaming and entertainment targeted at young adults.

The site's staff also includes a team of young writers who will conduct interviews with celebrities and "cool job" professionals, such as singer Justin Bieber, Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am and actress Miranda Cosgrove.

Williams says: "Kidult is a reliable news source that speaks directly to teenagers. It also gives them a chance to get involved and speak to other young people about issues they care about. Kidult is the site I wish I had when I was in high school." (JMA/WNWCUW/MT)
