Official Plot Synopsis

Science Fiction’s scariest baddies go head to head in a movie directed by the guy responsible for Mortal Combat in lieu of another Alien movie directed by Ridley Scott. Depressed yet? Good. Low expectations mean you’re ripe for astonishment.
Alien vs. Predator looks to invent bizarre circumstances in which video game dreams come true. Aliens fight Predators. Humans get trapped in the middle. “Whoever wins, we lose.” What brings them together is an ancient pyramid uncovered, in of all places, Antarctica. A team of adventures heads to the frozen continent to inspect, but find a lot more than just broken down ruins.
Paul W.S. Anderson is not a good director. He is however occasionally a capable director and despite is track record of crap adaptations every now and then turns out something that’s pretty fun like Resident Evil. Can he manage that with Alien vs. Predator? Maybe. So far the trailers aren’t particularly spectacular. They’re shadows and misdirects. We haven’t really seen anything. But, like last year’s Freddy vs. Jason, fans will probably find something fun in Anderson’s attempt no matter how the actual movie turns out. As long as there is plenty of Predator on Alien action, there’ll be something worth watching.
