Alvin and the Chipmunks, a global phenomenon to generations of fans, becomes a live action/CGI motion picture event with a contemporary comic sensibility. Songwriter Dave Seville transforms singing chipmunks Alvin, Simon and Theodore into pop senstations -- while the out-of-control trio lays waste to Dave's home, wreaks havoc with his career, and turns Dave's once-orderly life upside-down.
Even the trailer contains a poop joke, so don't expect high-class humor. Still, the original voices are back for the Chipmunk characters and Jason Lee wasn't that bad in Underdog... although with this you have to start wondering if there's anything the former Kevin Smith star wouldn't do.

I know this is going to be a lousy movie, the trailers show that. This isn't going to be classy, this isn't going to be funny. In short, expect nothing from this film. That said, I can't wait for it. I loved the Chipmunks sooooo freakin much when I was little. In fact, they introduced me to music. I don't expect anything from this movie except nostalgia.
so lets think about prior live action cartoon movies; garfeild, pink panther, ect. These movies are only successful because the audience tend to reminisce about the cartoons of their childhood and think "omg i loved that show, i can't wait to see the movie" but the movie always contains bad humor, lacking dialog, and actors that are not really in the top movies.
overall this is not going to be a cinematic phenomenon. The ones who made this know of the psychology involved and know that everyone will be like 'aw they are cute, i loved that show, lets go spend $10 to watch a movie that we will ultimately be disappointed in"
i dont mean to be so negative but it bothers me that movies like this get the traffic they do, and its not deserved.. unless the entire audience is 10.
omg i can not wait till this moviwe comes out those guys r like my number one favourite cararters and i mean number 1 i love them to death and can not wait till it come out
