The world is falling into chaos. As he roams a crumbling city, Duncan MacLeod, the Highlander, remembers happier times before the love of his life left... Hopeless and alone, MacLeod finds his way to a band of immortal companions, including his mysterious friend Methos, and a mortal, Watcher Joe Dawson. Together this small group sets out on a quest to find the origin of the first Immortal and The Source of their immortality.
The Highlander movies have been nothing but an endless stream of disappointments since the first, fantastic film. When the critically acclaimed television version of the franchise ended and was transitioned into feature films, some of us had hope that we might finally get another good Highlander movie. The show was amazing, Adrian Paul was to take over from Christopher Lambert and bring everything that the TV show had right while erasing everything the movies had wrong all in one new direction for the films.
Instead what happened was Adrian Paul was slid right into the movie formula that had already failed time and again with Christopher Lambert. The greatness of the TV show was forgotten in favor of continuing onward with more crap. It’s downright depressing.
Somehow though, the franchise limps onward. Even though no one but me saw the last movie Endgame, they’re squeezing out another one with Adrian Paul in the lead, and calling it Highlander: The Source. It’s hard to be a Highlander fan these days. I’m a recovering fan, but I’d like to be able to give The Source a chance.

I have been a great fan of The Highlander...moreso Adrian Paul than Christopher Lambert, although the original Highlander movie was very well done, the second flopped miserably. The third was better, there was too many loopholes between the two that made little or no sense. Endgame was far and away the best of the three sequels, primarily because of Adrian Paul's character, Duncan. I wish I could at least find the series in syndication somewhere. As it is, I'm buying the yearly sets wherever I can find them.
I have loved all the movies and the series. I did take issues with the origional cut of highlander 2 but Panzer-Davis fixed it and it was a little better. Now I am not going to sit and argue with anyone about wheather they were good or bad. I am a die hard fan and I liked them all. That is what makes me a die Hard fan.
All I want to know is that it is August 14 2007 and I have not seen a trailer for it and it is supposed to be released on the 15th of september. I want to know is it going to theater or DVD. I know that Endgame would have done better if they would have plugged the movie instead of just calling the fan club members.
So can anyone answer this. I am dieing with anticipation.
well i like the whole franchise sure it could use some tweaks here and there be highlander 2 renegade version was not a bad movie endgame was great just to short the series what really made highlander the source rought cut of the film is alright just need a few more scenes and different dialogue i sick and tired of people bashing highlander if you dont like it dont watch it
For the most part, I think the review in pretty much on target. The original has never been equaled. The second was awful. the third an improvement, but still not that good. Endgame was a vast improvement over two and three, but still fell short. even A. Paul was disappointed with its final cut. I am hoping The Source brings back some on the Series magic. I miss good Hightlander. Hope for the best.
I wouldn't give Endgame as low as a 7%...and if you look at the "rest of the world" ratings and not the "cynical critic" ratings you see that Highlander 2 got 18%, Highlander 3 got 6% and Endgame a lofty 36%. So, 99 percent of the world thought them a "little" better than crap.
That being said, the he difference with this Source and the reason to give it a chance is that Adrian Paul is pretty much in charge.
You may like them, but 99 percent of the rest of the world thinks they are crap. Reviews can't get much worse than that.
That's how I can say it.
Personally, I found a couple of those bad ones watchable... but I'm not going to try and say they're good movies. Just watchable. Which is a shame, since the first one, and the TV series are so great. Come on, Highlander fans have deserved better for a LONG time and haven't gotten it.
I cant believe what I just read. How can you say the films were that bad. Ok the second one was the worst movie i ever saw. But 3 was ok and "End Game" was the best one out of them all. It had Story and action. Witch is more then most movies have today. And honestly though Paul is good, no one can truly replace Lambert.
