Comedy. License to Wed follows newly engaged Ben Murphy (John Krasinski) and his fiancee, Sadie Jones (Mandy Moore), who has always dreamed of getting married in a traditional wedding at her family church. The problem is St. Augustine's only has one wedding slot available in the next two years, and its charismatic pastor, Reverend Frank (Robin Williams), won't bless Ben and Sadie's union until they pass his patented, foolproof marriage-prep course. Through outrageous classes, outlandish homework assignments and some pious manipulation, Ben and Sadie are about to find out if they really have what it takes to make it to the altar and live happily ever after.

This "movie" is nothing more than more of Robin Williams' stand up routine. Sadly, Williams has fallen into a deep yawning casam that he can't seem to escape. Could it be that he is suffering the "Tim Allen" syndrome? You know, Take Whatever Is Offered Regardless. Well, he has to make a living, but we don't have to provide it! I will save you the price of a ticket - Robin rants and one lines his way through unimaginative writing, directing etc.. I attended the premiere at the Cinerama Dome. There was plenty of laughter but I got the feeling that many were paid laughers hehehe. It also was apparent that many were laughing AT the movie and not with it. i can think of THOUSANDS of things you should do on July 3rd, and none includes seeing this latest Williams Garbage Reel. "Best thing to do is get out on a high note." (Williams proves here he is so far past his high note that there may be no finding it again..ever)
This film feels like it should be out in August or September, not plopped down on the 4th of July against a movie thats garanteed to make a bajillion dollars on name recognition alone.
