The 10 Best On-Screen Couples Of 2012
As we put a cap on the cinematic year, we wanted to go back and single out the duos who turned our heads with combustible on-screen chemistry. We admit to cheating in at least one selection, and we admit an over-reliance on the Hollywood “bromance.” But we think it’s a great list.

Bruce Willis' 10 Most Terrifying Characters
Over the course of his twenty-five-plus year career, Willis has painted hundreds of rooms red with the fluids of his foes, and something tells me twenty-five years from now, he’ll be sitting on a stoop with a shotgun, picking off bad guys and pleasing audiences in yet another terrifying turn on screen.

The Top 10 Movies Of 2012: Mack's List
The following ten movies are the ones that have really stuck with me. They’re the ones that have gotten better with months or weeks of age and have separated themselves from the pack. Some of them will definitely be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards and others will not even be considered. Some of them you’ll probably agree with, and some of them will probably make you laugh and doubt my credibility.

The 10 Most Disappointing Movies Of 2012
Looking back a year full of movies you have to remember the bad with the good. These are the titles we see in theaters and leave saying, “Man, I wish that was better.”

Looper Diagrammed With Straws, Even Though Bruce Willis Said Not To
This fall's twisty sci-fi movie Looper inspired a lot of people to dig through its logic and potential plot holes, but the movie itself cut off that kind of analysis at the pass, having Bruce Willis's character scoff at a suggestion to figure out how time travel works: " If we start talking about it we’ll be here all day, making diagrams with straws!

First Clip From Looper: Bruce Willis Doesn't Want To Talk About Time Travel
On paper backwards time travel seems really simple - person travels from "Future Point A" to "Past Point B" - but when you really start digging into it it becomes insanely complicated. Is a person literally traveling to their own past, or are they visiting an alternate timeline? If it's not an alternate timeline, does that mean every thing that happens post-time travel has a direct effect on "Future Point A"?

If you've been searching around for reviews of The Dark Knight Rises, you may notice a certain pattern: near universal praise for Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Regardless of what anyone might tell you, the goal of any movie is to make money, maybe not a ton of money but at least some money. Joseph Gordon-Levitt And Rian Johnson Explain Looper's Time Travel Laws
One of the greatest things about the science-fiction genre is that it allows the creator to build a world from the ground up. Whether they want it to reflect the world we live in now, or be completely unrecognizable, the author has the chance to do whatever they want. The drawback of this is that rules of the universe need to be created, and that’s particularly important in the case of time travel.

Get A Sneak Peek At Looper, Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt
In my opinion there are few movies released in the last decade better than Rian Johnson's Brick. In addition to being a great twisty, moody neo-noir, it also introduced us to a fascinating new filmmaker. A few years later Johnson took a left turn when he wrote and directed The Brothers Bloom, a con film with a completely different atmosphere than his first movie. Now, four years later, the writer/director is just about ready to release his latest film

Looper Poster Transforms Joseph Gordon-Levitt Into Bruce Willis
The whole mirror image thing happening vertically makes the poster immediately distinct from all the garbage floating heads we usually see, and I love the effect of both actors disintegrating, either by explosion or the passing of time. First Look At Joseph Gordon-Levitt In Rian Johnson's Looper
In Looper, the upcoming science-fiction film from Brick director Rian Johnson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis play the same character, Joe. Because the plot involves time travel, the movie has Gordon-Levitt playing the present day version of Joe while Willis is the future version. There's one problem, however: Joseph Gordon-Levitt looks nothing like Bruce Willis.

Looper Director Rian Johnson Shares Details On His Time-Travel Thriller
What of the time-travel element, which Johnson readily admits “just never makes sense” in most sci-fi films? "If you just tell somebody the plot, you're inevitably telling them the time travel stuff, but the movie actually uses that as a set-up,” he explains. “The best parallel I can draw is to the first Terminator moviem where time travel is used to set up this impossible situation between these people and then that situation plays itself out."
