Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Synopsis
Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Rob Marshall, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise—this time in Disney Digital 3D™. Johnny Depp returns to his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in an action-packed adventure. Crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Penelope Cruz), he’s not sure if it’s love—or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past. The international cast includes franchise vets Geoffrey Rush as the vengeful Captain Hector Barbossa and Kevin R. McNally as Captain Jack’s longtime comrade Joshamee Gibbs, plus Sam Claflin as a stalwart missionary and Astrid Berges-Frisbey as a mysterious mermaid.

Disney Will Delay Pirates Of The Caribbean DVD For A Month After Blu-Ray
Yesterday, Disney announced the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Blu-Ray, 3D Blu-Ray, and movie download release for October 18. Oddly, the only mention of a DVD release came with the available combo packs. Since Disney isn’t known for making many mistakes, the looming lack of DVD release seemed like it could be a serious problem.

Sam Raimi, Shawn Levy And Others Being Considered For Pirates 5 Directing Job
Their dream choice for the Pirates of the Caribbean 5 directing job is Tim Burton. There was reason to believe they wanted him for the fourth movie too, and just couldn’t get him. Odds that they’ll get him now are pretty slim. We’ve heard they’re also tossing around names like Shawn Levy, Sam Raimi, Chris Weitz, and Alfonso Cuaron.

Weekend Box Office - America Spends Memorial Weekend With A Second Hangover
There are two things American audiences tend to love more than anything else: raunch comedies and sequels. This weekend was the kind of line up that audiences drool over, featuring sequels in the top three spots and at number one the holy grail of mindless entertainment: the raunch comedy sequel

Weekend Box Office - Number One Pirates Sink A Bit
Summer got into full swing this weekend with the first major anticipated blockbuster arriving in theaters. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides swash-buckled onto the scene with a year-to-date best opening of $90 million. While that's no skin off an old flint's nose, it is the lowest debut total for a Pirates of the Caribbean movie since the first in the series Curse of the Black Pearl.

Exclusive Interview: Pirates Of The Caribbean's Geoffrey Rush
A couple weeks ago I was invited to sit down with Geoffrey Rush for a one-on-one interview, in which we discussed the scale of the enormous scale of the new film, collaborating with Rob Marshall in the direction of his character, and comparing the experience of working with Marshall in contrast to Gore Verbinski, who directed the three previous Pirate films.

This Rotten Week: Predicting Pirates Of The Caribbean On Stranger Tides Reviews
Aaaaarr matey! It’s time to for you land lubbers to walk the plank, drink some grog and ahh, blimey, pirate talk is so freaking annoying. Forget it. But Disney didn’t get the memo so Captain Jack Sparrow is back with another summer blockbuster in the making.

Johnny Depp Is Game For Pirates 5, But Hopes The Studio Will Take Its Time
Depp wound up bent over backwards with work on the second two Pirates films when they were shot back to back in 2006 and 2007, and also has plenty of other projects in the works, so you can see why he's not anxious to rush into Pirates production yet again

First Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Clip Shows Jack's Daring Escape
All the familiar Pirates elements are there-- the jaunty score, the physical comedy, the actions that are just a few degrees beyond what could actually happen. In other words, it looks like fun, and I'm still holding out hope that this fourth Pirates can actually recreate the spark

New Pirates: On Stranger Tides Mermaid Poster
The next Pirates of the Caribbean movie isn’t taking Keira Knightley with it On Stranger Tides, and they’ve replaced her with Penelope Cruz who was very pregnant the entire time they filmed it. So they’ll need new eye-candy. No problem. There be mermaids in these waters. Disney has released a new Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides character poster

Spot Penelope Cruz's Baby Bump In This New Pirates: On Stranger Tides Featurette
Hiring Penelope Cruz to play a female pirate and foil for Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides was a brilliant bit of casting. I doubt we’re going to miss either Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, both of whom were always better suited to standing around and looking pretty than trading barbs.

New Pirates of the Caribbean Featurette: From Disneyland To The Big Screen
Even after the release of three movies and an soon-to-be-released fourth, it's strange to think that the entire Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was adapted from a ride at Disney's theme parks. The ride itself doesn't actually have any plot or story to it at all, but the movies are some of the biggest hits that the movie world has ever witnessed.

New Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Trailer Has Less Comedy, More Action
Two weeks back, at approximately 3:00am PST, the good people behind Super 8 released the first theatrical trailer for the J.J. Abrams film. It made sense, as the trailer had just been shown in front of midnight screenings across the country in front of Battle: Los Angeles, and posting it prevented people from recording it illegally in the theater. Why the new Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides trailer is being posted at 1:30am PST on a Sunday is beyond me.

Jack Sparrow Looks To The Sky In New Pirates Of The Caribbean Poster
Maybe it's the perplexed look on Jack's face, or the simple fact that he's not staring intensely at the viewer like so many people tend to do on posters, or maybe it's just the fact that I'm warming up to the whole idea of this four-quel; either way, I take this as yet another sign that director Rob Marshall is doing something right

The framework is the direct camera address from Jack Sparrow that's been around at least since the summer, but cut in the middle is what looks like a lot of new footage.
