Based on the Konami videogame of the same name. It's the story of a woman named Rose (Radha Mitchell) searching for her lost daughter in the dark, foggy, creepy, mysterious, adjective laden town of Silent Hill.
There's an upcomng videogame movie with a good chance to be the first to work. This isn't it. At best, Silent Hill will be something along the lines of Resident Evil: tolerable, forgettable, horrible fun. At worst, it'll be a miserable Resident Evil clone. We don’t need another of those. We already have two, called Resident Evil 2 and Doom.
If there's a positive to Silent Hill it's that maybe Radha Mitchell will get paid. She's been giving great performances in smaller films and smaller roles for a couple of years now. This may not get her as much critical recognition, but it'll probably buy her a nice house somewhere in Beverly Hills.
