JB bonds with a local slacker named KG and they form a band called Tenacious D. Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny follows their journey to become the greatest band in the world. To rule the world of rock, they'll have to steal a magical guitar pick housed 300 miles away in a heavily guarded museum.


If you don't know who Jables is, then this movie isn't for you. Tenacious D has rocked HBO, they've rocked the music charts, and now they're going to rock Hollywood with their feature film debut. There's nothing JB and Kage can't fucking do.

Except make a good trailer that is. I love the boys, I mean nobody can handle a feather, a French tickler the way Kage can, and JB sucks toes like no one in the biz, but they don't know good movie advertisements. There's maybe one laugh in the entire Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny teaser trailer and that's not good. I'm going to give them a pass on that until we see more. Even the greatest band in them world may not know marketing.

The film on the other hand will rock your socks right off as Jack Black and Kyle Gass bring the filthy fun characters first made popular via their HBO specials onto movie screens. Of course, since the band's last gig Jack has become a massive international star. Face it, that's the only reason this movie's getting made. Don't underestimate KG though, just because Jables has all the fame. He's every bit JB's match.

What can you expect from them in feature film? Sasquatch for one. Also music; ass-kicking music. Comedy is just an interlude between Jack's killer singing and Kyle's amazing guitar strumming. Together they're unstoppable. Be there D fans, and ignore the nay-sayers. Jack and Kyle are going to double team critics into submission. Hail Satan.
