Texas Chainsaw 3D Synopsis
Lionsgate’s Texas Chainsaw 3D continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought.

Decades later and hundreds of miles away from the original massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars.

Leatherface Will Eat More Flesh In Texas Chainsaw 3D Prequel Leatherface Will Eat More Flesh In Texas Chainsaw 3D Prequel
Have you ever had a feeling of déjà vu set to the cacophonous co-mingling of guttural screams and a rumbling chainsaw? Millennium Films is reportedly moving forward with their second installment in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, and they’ve hired under-the-radar screenwriter Seth M. Sherwood to handle the script. They’re calling it Leatherface, which was also the title of Jeff Burr’s third series entry, and it’s going to be a prequel, which is basically what 2006’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning was. I’m going to go watch a serpent eat itself for a while.

Texas Chainsaw 3D Sequel Not Happening Quite Yet Texas Chainsaw 3D Sequel Not Happening Quite Yet
Just a little while after revealing that the next teven Spielberg sci-fi action blockbuster won't happen this year, Deadline is reporting that the proposed sequel to Texas Chainsaw 3D - which was "announced" just yesterday - may not actually happen. While the site had learned from producer and Millennium Films founder Avi Lerner that the project was a go, apparently "the green light wasn’t Avi’s to give" and the truth is that no progress has yet been made on a follow-up.

Another Texas Chainsaw Movie Is Already In The Works Another Texas Chainsaw Movie Is Already In The Works
This past weekend Texas Chainsaw 3D pulled off something nobody saw coming. With a take of $21.7 million the film managed to dethrone The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey from the top of the box office charts to become the number one film in America. It was a disappointing turn of events due to the fact that the movie was critically reviled, but the situation actually gets worse: the success has already inspired development of a sequel.

Texas Chainsaw 3D Surprises With A Win At Friday Box Office Texas Chainsaw 3D Surprises With A Win At Friday Box Office
With generally negative reviews that still seemed a little astonished that it wasn't more awful, Texas Chainsaw 3D seems a slight cut above the usual dreck that comes out in the first week of January-- and the box office is rewarding it in turn. Early Friday box office estimates say Texas Chainsaw will rank above all the huge holiday holdovers this weekend

Well 2012 is winding down and I don’t know about you but I’m sad to see it go. It’s been a good year. (So-so with the predictions, but me personally? I’m good.) We end the year with a buzz (of a chainsaw) as some kids head back down to Texas for a little reunion with Leatherface

Leatherface Returns In First Trailer For Texas Chainsaw 3D Leatherface Returns In First Trailer For Texas Chainsaw 3D
It started in 1974 with Tobe Hooper's classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. That film spawned a number of sequels, but the whole franchise was rebooted in 2003 with Marcus Nispel's remake. This was followed by a prequel in 2006 titled The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, but once again its reboot time as director John Luessenhop and Lionsgate have come together to bring back Leatherface in Texas Chainsaw 3D. And now the first trailer for the reboot is online.
