An adaptation of the classic J.R.R. Tolkien novel of the same name. To be split up into two separate movies.

Set several years before the events of Lord of the Rings, it tells the story of a small hobbit named Bilbo Baggins, who journeys to a far off land, finds a magic ring of invisibility, and helps a group of dwarves fight an evil, treasure-hoarding dragon.


Two movies seems a bit excessive for The Hobbit, a much simpler, and more movie friendly book than Lord of the Rings. But with Peter Jackson executive producing it, there's no way, two movies or one, that this project can go wrong.
