The Possession Synopsis
Based on real events, The Possession is the terrifying story of how one family must unite in order to survive the wrath of an unspeakable evil

Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) see little cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Emís behavior becomes increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a dibbuk, a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.

The Possession Will Arrive On Blu-ray On January 15 The Possession Will Arrive On Blu-ray On January 15
The Possession is one of two 2012 horror films featuring unknown forces taking over the wills of children, the other being Sinister. The Possession, however, is the only flick that had The Evil Deadís Sam Raimi to back it up as a producer, which should be a nice touch on the DVD box. Speaking of which, The Possession will hit Blu-ray, DVD, digital download, and On Demand on January 15.

Why Didn't You Go To The Movies Last Weekend? Why Didn't You Go To The Movies Last Weekend?
I absolutely love working here at Cinema Blend, but I will fully admit that the job is hard during this portion of the calendar. Why? Because my job is to talk about movies, and itís hard to do that when nobody out there is interested in talking about movies. If youíve been paying attention to recent box office numbers than you might have noticed that people have basically stopped going to their local theater.

First Trailer For The Possession, Starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan And Kyra Sedgwick First Trailer For The Possession, Starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan And Kyra Sedgwick
When it comes to movies about demon possession, the Catholics pretty much have the market cornered. The movies always involve some creature from hell finding its way to Earth only to come face to face with a priest who wants to banish it back to where it came from. Now, however, thanks to producer Sam Raimi and director Ole Bornedal, Jewish folks now have a possession movie of their very own.
