Synopsis

From acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan (Memento, Batman Begins), comes a mysterious story of two magicians whose intense rivalry leads them on a life-long battle for supremacy full of obsession, deceit and jealousy with dangerous and deadly consequences.

From the time that they first met as young magicians on the rise, Robert Angier (HUGH JACKMAN) and Alfred Borden (CHRISTIAN BALE) were competitors. However, their friendly competition evolves into a bitter rivalry making them fierce enemies-for-life and consequently jeopardizing the lives of everyone around them.

Where The Illusionist dissapointed, Christopher Nolan's The Prestige looks to succeed. The Illusionist was light on magic, heavy on melodrama. The Prestige looks like it's ready to blow the doors off with all the turn of the century tricks of the trade modern FX houses can muster.

The film is Nolan's tweener, wedged between his moderately successful 2005 franchise reboot Batman Begins and its 2008 sequel The Dark Knight, which will focus on Batman's first encounter with the Joker. The Prestige is the little film he's doing between blockbusters, and for a lot of big-budget movie directors it is the smaller projects like these that keeps them energized and going for the more grueling schedule of a major Hollywood blockbuster.

Recut Dark Knight Rises Trailer Benefits From The Prestige Voice-Over

Even though mash-ups have been done to death, there are still the rare few that burst through the thick layer of crap and actually impress. Today it's another Batman themed edit but instead of the traditional mash-up, this video, with voice-over from The Prestige, acts like a brand new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises as well as Christopher Nolan's trilogy as a whole. ...
