Jonah Hill's The Sitter Coming To DVD In March Jonah Hill's The Sitter Coming To DVD In March
Despite Jonah Hill's steadily rising star, The Sitter didn't exactly set the box office on fire when it opened last month. It's currently grossed $30 million in the U.S., which isn't bad on a budget of around $10 million, but even Get Him to the Greek had nearly doubled that gross by the one-month mark. Maybe it was the overcrowded December release schedule, maybe it was the reviews, but not even the refreshing sight of old-school chubby Jonah Hill could bring in the crowds.

More People Went To The Movies After 9/11 Than In The Last Two Weeks More People Went To The Movies After 9/11 Than In The Last Two Weeks
There's not much good to say about this past weekend of moviegoing. Both of the new wide releases, The Sitter and New Year's Eve, weren't all that good, and though New Year's Eve managed to win the box office, it did it with just $13.7 million, on top of the lowest weekend box office since September of 2008. But in fact, the picture is even grimmer than that

Can New Years Eve's Weak Box Office Kill That Rom-Com Style For Good? Can New Years Eve's Weak Box Office Kill That Rom-Com Style For Good?
Even when the weekend's movies are dogs, it's always a bummer to see Hollywood fall on its face for a weekend-- we all want the movie industry to survive, right? But if there's one huge silver lining here, it's that the New Year's Eve/Valentine's Day mini-franchise is pretty much over, meaning we'll probably never see

While you might have to look a little harder to see the director's personal stamp when he's playing with genre, it's clear talking to Green that he loves the movies he's making now, and that by revisiting the genres and stories he loved in his childhood, he's making movies that are just as personal as something he scraped together $40,000 to shoot on his own

This Rotten Week: Predicting New Year's Eve And The Sitter Reviews This Rotten Week: Predicting New Year's Eve And The Sitter Reviews
The Rotten Watch is back after taking some time to look back, reflect, and catch a quick breather from the endless movie onslaught. I need a clear mind when taking many of these flicks to task. But the batteries are recharged and its time to get back to work. This week the big ball drops and Jonah Hill joins the Babysitter’s Club

Jonah Hill Wants His Minivan Back In The New Sitter Trailer Jonah Hill Wants His Minivan Back In The New Sitter Trailer
Before the night is over, Jonah Hill winds up with problems bigger than simply where to stash the kids so he can have sex with his girlfriend. Drug-dealer problems. Sharting problems. And the kids...something's gotta be done about those kids!

The Sitter Red Band Trailer Shows More Of Jonah Hill's Babysitting Adventures The Sitter Red Band Trailer Shows More Of Jonah Hill's Babysitting Adventures
Once upon a time Elizabeth Shue took a bunch of kids into the big city when she was supposed to be babysitting them at home and lots of bad things happened. Based on what we’ve seen from The Sitter, including the content of this red band trailer, Jonah Hill hasn’t learned much from Adventures in Babysitting.

David Gordon Green Directing Unconventional Romance Q David Gordon Green Directing Unconventional Romance Q
Somewhere along the way, David Gordon Green’s career made a sharp left turn. Hardly anyone who watched Green’s early soul-searching efforts (George Washington, All the Real Girls, Snow Angels) could have predicted the sophomoric antics of Pineapple Express, Your Highness or the upcoming The Sitter.

The Sitter Red-Band TV Spot: Only Jonah Hill Was Harmed Making This Movie The Sitter Red-Band TV Spot: Only Jonah Hill Was Harmed Making This Movie
Aside from the fact that red-band TV spots don't really make any sense-- obviously these are never going to be able to air on TV, so why are they edited as if they were?--I don't see a whole lot to like in this spot. It basically seems to be telling us that the only reason to see The Sitter is to watch Jonah Hill curse at children and get the hell beaten out of him, neither of which sound all that funny or original

In the film, Hill stars as a slacker who gets suspended from college and is forced into babysitting his neighbors kids. When his "girlfriend" suggests that she'll have sex with him, however, he throws caution to the wind, piles the kids into a minivan, and goes out for an insane, adventurous night.

Green Band Trailer For The Sitter Tones Down The Language Green Band Trailer For The Sitter Tones Down The Language
If you watched the red band trailer that premiered yesterday for David Gordon Green's The Sitter, you automatically know that this is a movie that is not going to necessarily appeal to all four quadrants. Even before the footage begins to roll you hear a woman orgasming and then explaining to Jonah Hill that nice guys give the best head.

Earlier this year David Gordon Green premiered his follow-up to Pineapple Express, the medieval comedy Your Highness starring James Franco and Danny McBride. Unfortunately the film wasn't what most people expected, as it was a critical dud and ended up making only a little over $20 million at the domestic box office.
