What Will Be The Summer's Biggest Movie? We Place Our Bets

Iron Man 3 is an enormous hit right now, nearing $1 billion at the worldwide box office and ruling the American charts for the second weekend in a row. The Great Gatsby opened just last week and managed to stun nearly everybody by making $51 million. Summer movies are there to entertain us, sure, but they're really all about the money, and even more than we want to know the true identity of Star Trek's villain or what's really going on in Edgar Wright's The World's End...

The Wolverine Japanese Trailer Thrills With New Footage, A Better Pace

It’s not that the footage shown in this trailer is vastly different. It's clear that Jackman and director James Mangold are bringing Wolverine to some dark places in this sequel, but also packing it with a lot of samurai fighting and a very fast-paced sequence on a bullet train, which Jackman calls "insane." It’s foolish to judge a film on its trailer. Jon Favreau’s Cowboys & Aliens looked fantastic as a two-minute tease. In Bryan Singer's 2000 film X-Men it was established that Wolverine wasn't a big fan of the leather jump suit the team had him wear, but that doesn't fully explain a certain pattern that has developed in the marketing for James Mangold's upcoming superhero film The Wolverine. The Wolverine Had Only One Mutant In Early Drafts

One of the biggest problems with Brett Ratner's X-Men: The Last Stand was that it tried to do too much with too many mutants. Somehow the filmmakers got it into their heads that the only thing people want out of an X-Men movie are cool mutant abilities, and the rest of the movie suffered as a result.
