In X-Men: The Last Stand, the final chapter in the X-Men motion picture trilogy, a "cure" for mutancy threatens to alter the course of history. For the first time, mutants have a choice: retain their uniqueness, though it isolates and alienates them, or give up their powers and become human. The opposing viewpoints of mutant leaders Charles Xavier (Stewart), who preaches tolerance, and Magneto (McKellen), who believes in the survival of the fittest, are put to the ultimate test -- triggering the war to end all wars.

X-Men 2 left its audience with a promise: this story isn’t over. In an ending reminiscent of the best traditions of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (one of the few films in history to properly kill off a popular franchise character), Jean Grey sacrificed her life to save Professor X, Cyclops, and the X-Men. But was she really dead? Director Bryan Singer left savvy X-Fans with hope when, in the closing credits of the film the shape of a fiery bird, a Phoenix (Jean’s future and alter-ego in the comics), stirred within Jean’s watery grave. But Singer wouldn’t be around to finish this story. Lured away by the luster of Superman Returns, and disenfranchised by Fox’s inexplicable lack of interest in their massive, money-making X-Franchise, Bryan bailed out on doing the third X-Men movie.

Fox immediately went into panic mode, and after a lot of rumors, speculation, and wishful thinking on the part of fans, they hired Singer’s replacement: Brett Ratner. Ratner is a capable action director, the kind of guy you can count on to deliver fun, empty flicks. His past work includes popcorn munchers like Rush Hourand Rush Hour 2. That makes him only half a fit for X-Men 3. While popcorn munching mutie action is certainly part of what makes X-Men great, Ratner’s not really capable of handling the film’s other components; the heavier stuff, the story of people trying to protect a world that fears and hates them. Can he deliver a great superhero, action spectacle? There is little doubt. But if you want anything more out of Ratner, he’d better have one hell of a script to work with.

With studio execs in panic mode, and apparently a lot of bitterness towards the departed Singer, X3 was rushed into production in an effort to beat Singer’s now longer in development Superman movie into theaters. Forget whether or not that’s in the best interests of the franchise or Ratner’s film. Fox simply wanted something done and done now. Of secondary concern to them is whether or not it’s any good. So it’s no surprise that the script sounds like something of a rush job too. Written by one of the guys who brought you Elektra (Zak Penn), and the mind behind the script for Mr. & Mrs. Smith (Simon Kinberg), early word on the screenplay has been that it does all the things that no right-thinking X-Men fan wants it to do. Still recovering from one character death in the last film, they’ve decided more would be even better. Rumor has it that many of the most prominent characters from the past two movies will meet their maker, some of them within the movie’s first ten minutes. Where X2 did character deaths right, X3 will simply do them, in what many perceive as an effort to clear out the cast and make room for a takeover of the franchise by Halle Berry.

Halle you’ll remember, doesn’t even like the X-Men, and has in the past been fairly vocal with her disdain at being forced to play a superhero character. The real issue for her though is screen time, and before she’d agree to reprise her role as Storm for X3, Berry demanded an X-Men movie centered entirely around her. It appears that Fox executives, lured by the luster of her undeserved Oscar, may have been only too eager to oblige. What Halle either doesn’t understand or doesn’t seem to care about, is that the X-Men aren’t about Storm or Wolverine any one team member. The films work because of their dynamic as a group. But X3 looks to leave that team permanently shattered, with prime members shipped out and replaced by weaker newbies.

At least they’ve found good newbies. Nightcrawler won’t be back at all, for some reason Fox decided they’d had enough of the fantastic work of Alan Cumming. Instead, X3 introduces a new, blue character in the form of Hank McCoy, who, in a brilliant bit of casting, is played by Kelsey Grammer. Fraser as a superhero? Why not. He may not exactly embody Hank “Best” McCoy’s athleticism, but he’s a perfect match for Hank’s almost overly educated, lovable persona.

Perhaps the most disheartening thing about the development of X3 is that it may be the end. Titled X-Men: The Last Stand, Fox execs have been fairly adamant that this will be the last movie in the X-Men saga. Instead, their focus is on creating a series of inferior spin-off movies starring popular, surviving X-Men team members. Wolverine’s spin-off (which may be a prequel) is already in development as is a Magneto movie (which will absolutely be a prequel), focusing on a younger, more marketable version of the wizened master of magnetism. If this really is the last one, even if Ratner’s take is an utter disaster, that’s a shame. How quickly this franchise will have fallen. X2 is perhaps one of the finest comic book, superhero movies ever to make it to screen, and even now there are so many stories left to tell with these character. So many people and places unvisited. Fox! Whether or not X3 does well please, please don’t make this the franchise’s last stand.

  1. anonymous Says:

sorry to break it 2 u ppl (dont take this offensively) but if you ppl still feel the way you do about x-3, and havent updated your site's preview pulp and excitometer based on it because of that, you seriously need to have much more of an open mind. i mean come on, you all have alot of spoilers at hand to know how its going to be and you all still think its gonna be a horrible movie? maybe you just need to have some more faith in it is all . who is to say thats its going to be a terrible movie or even better of a movie than its predecessors?as a fan of the x-men(not just the movies) im not so easy to lose hope on it so simply and easily.besides the emotion in it and the action and more elements like the romance (the whole jean love triangle and rogue and bobby's relationship) is going to obviously be way more powerful than the last two in the xmen saga. maybe this wont change your opinion but this is just my opinion on the movie.

  1. Josh Says:

    Anonymous...

First quit hiding and use a name.

Second, the fact that you still think the "love triangle" will be ANY part of this movie shows you know absolutely nothing about what's going on with this movie.

That puts you in absolutely no position to critque the opinions of those who HAVE been paying attention to more than just the film's flashy trailer.

  1. Americo Says:

They lost me when they announced Halle Berry was coming back to play Storm for the third movie. Yuck. I'm a huge Storm fan, but I would've rather them have cut her out than brought Halle Berry back. Who cares?

  1. X-men Says:

Everybody who has negative thoughts about x-men 3, why do you care then. Just forget it about and don't go to the movie if all your going to do is whine and complain about it. as for me i can't wait till it comes out, and plus, i'm glad halle got a larger role because she's one of the best characters. and if you don't like it, too bad, she's still gonna have a big part in the movie.

    PEACE

  1. Brian Says:

We care, "whine", and "complain" because we want it to be good. The first two movies were great. Do tell, how do you get to your rose-coloured world where everyone has positive thoughts about everything?

  1. phoenix622 Says:

I think this movie is going to bring the comic characters to life, not that the other two movies haven't, i think that there will be more action than talk in this movie. Overall i can't wait to see the movie, expecially the dark phoenix, and her cosmic powers. It would be cool if they showed her destroying planets and galaxies. But, its ok, there are more important things to take care of in this movie. I hope in the near future that they make a phoenix saga triology or something. The phoenix and the x-men cannot end in just three movies.

  1. MYSteryMan Says:

Alexis Bledel Should have been Rogue

  1. A Duh Moment Says:

Haha oh! Get some facts straight before critiquing. But hey, someone who didn't care much for the film from the start would bother to do some actual research right? Riiight.

P.S. I know you'll be disappointed, but there isn't a mutant whore in the movie.

  1. Greg Says:

The only thing I think people should be worried about is the change in directors. Yeah... even if this new guy does a good job with the movie, the directoral change might be bad for the series as a whole if 3 is too cinematically different from 1 and 2. I'm also worried about the title: "The Last Stand"; not only does it sound sorta corny but it also implies that this will be the last X-Men movie. If it is, I will be sad.

  1. Josh Says:

I'm not so worried about Ratner... mostly I'm worried about the script Greg.

Ratner's not as bad as people like to portray him. Sure, he says some stupid things, but most of his past work is at least fun.

  1. Josh Says:

Sorry to break it to you Duh Moment, but there is indeed a Mutant Whore in the movie. At least that's how I would describe her. Do some research before attacking by checking it out here: http://www.cinemablend.com/new/X3_Rumors.html

  1. Brett Says:

I believe you people need to just chill out and see what happens. You shouldn't be coming down on someone if they think X3 is good or if its bad. It's their opinion. You like your opinions to be heard, allow others the same right. Every comment made here is just negitive and down right rude. Lighten up everyone. If someone likes one thing that you don't, oh well. I go back to films that I didn't like but a lot of people did just to see if I missed something. Some people like cats instead of dogs. Some people like red over blue.

You can like or a movie or not and voice your opinions but don't come down on others when you disagree with their experience of a film.

Stop the abuse and just move on with your lives.

  1. Tiffany Danner Says:

I love xmen, and for the people who don't like it stop bitching about it just stay away we don't want to hear you voices. My favoite is storm you can tell that she has troble dealing with people, she has something that makes her different and she can't find out what it is. other than being a mutant. Alot of people like a character for what power they have, i like them for what they don't have or what there looking for inside there self. And i wonder what has gotten in to Jean, oh well aslong as Storm is still alive and not evil and decide to kill milloins of people. thats ok with me.

  1. Famke Janssen Fan#1 Says:

i think this movie will rule with or with out storm/ halle berry
the only reson she came back is because they gave her a bigger part plus its not x-men with out storm remeber 1 of the first 3 studnts were here jean and scott. anyway its the last movie u dont have to see it

Famke janssen rules (actor who plays jean/phenoix)

  1. Chantel Says:

Well, I can tell by the comments that everyone is truely a fan of the X-men franchise. I enjoyed both films myself, X2 being even better than the first. Despite the change in director and screenwriters, I HOPE X3 will be even better. The trailer looks good, but looks can be deceiving. With all of the negative production gossip surrounding the film, for instance; Halle Berry being forced to play Storm and plotting to take over the X-MEN franchise? (that kind of gossip news doesn't even sound logical to be believed, but people believe it)....An actor FORCED to play a character they don't want to play, since when?. And Berry taking over!, I mean come on guys, Hugh Jackman is one of the producers of X3 not Halle Berry. This kind of negative gossip (false or true) stirs up doubt in the film's potential to be good and causes people to give a negative review without even seeing the movie.

I like all the X-Men characters, of course some more than others....like Wolverine, Mystic, Magneto, Rogue and Jean Grey. The other characters are great too, but there characters on film haven't been developed all that much for anyone to appreciate the actors portraying them....like Cyclops (James Marsden) and Storm (Halle Berry). I think both of these actors are great to play these characters, but the screenwriters didn't give them much to work with in 1 and 2. So it will be interesting to see how they have developed these characters, if at all.

Screenwriters are responsible for character development, plot and juicy lines for the actors. They are the bread and butter for the director and actors, so let's see if the writers did justice to X3.....I hope so.

  1. shawn halliday Says:

well, i worked on x-men 3, and as far as i could tell everyone was gearing up for another sequel, not to mention the wolverine movie that starts filming in a few months. to the best of my knowledge this franchise is far from over. the producers seem to be pleased with what brett ratner has done. it looks like its going to be a really fun movie. less serious, more fun. so yeah, it's a deprture from the other films. but everyone had a good time and i think it will translate well to the screen. then again it might be a piece of shit. either way, i'll be seeing it, so so should everyone else.

  1. Josh Says:

Well, I think everyone hopes it isn't the last.

But it's Fox and everyone involved with the film that keeps saying it IS the last. Just watched some new interviews the other day where Jackman, Ratner, and Famke all made it a point of saying it is the last one.

Maybe it's some sort of weird marketing ploy.

  1. Kandace Says:

Well to the person who said there are no love triangles you are sadly mistaken. Empire magazine discussed two new ones in particular.Halle isn't trying to take over anything and the person people are saying was forced back is Anna Paquin(rogue). If the trailer is any indication this movie will be pretty dramatic, not just "action and fun"has anyone been watching the trailers? there are tears, anger, and there is a love component. I learned that from a 3 min. trailer. the fact that some main charaters die is quite depressing but it happens in most film franchises.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm tired of people talking about Halle.God, is it her fault Singer was only really interested in Wolverine and Jean Grey. Cyclops probably got a combined 15 min between both films and the two love birds got an hour each.I personally love the character of Storm in the comics, but in the film I wondered what the hell was going on until I realized it was the writers fault. I mean that accent probably wasn't her idea and that wig in X1 was terrrible, was that her fault too? I just think the fans need a scapegoat for the disinterest in this final film and why not choose the"undeserved" Oscar winner Halle Berry.

  1. Liam Says:

I've been an X Men fan for about two decades now, but I stopped reading a few years back. I've always dreamed of seeing it turn into a movie that would do it justice, and that's happened, especially the second film. From all the spoilers I've seen, everything I've read, I'm hyped for this movie. Big budget, good actors, and the movie is based scene-by-scene right from the comics, more or less. Well, they had to take liberties to make it a cohesive movie, but what the hell. And phoenix? I haven't seen anything about the bird of fire around her. I hope they do that. The problem is that X-men are all about history and a movie can't include it all, so it has to make sense with the limited info they can fit in the movie. Like Rogue. She can fly and she's superhumanly strong, but her story has to be told to have it make sense and be true to the comic. It's just great to see Wolverine pop his claws and cut loose on the big screen. And Colossus! Have you seen the shots of him? Looks good. Too bad that Juggernaut isn't digitally enhanced to be as massive as his is in the comics, like the Hulk, but he looks good, still. I coudl go on, but whatever. Can't wait!

  1. phoenix622 Says:

Why is the excite-o-meter still at 3????????

  1. Josh Says:

The Excite-o-Meter sits at 3 because I'm waffling between unbridled excitement and complete and utter dread of X3.

The trailer looks nice, but word on the script is still bad. Kelsey Grammer is a nice addition to the cast, but the people being subtracted aren't the ones you'd want to go.

Brett Ratner is a decent action director, but he's not proven himself good at much more than that.

So it's an excitement level based on utter confusion about what to think about X3.

  1. Josh Says:

Kandace, that comment was made in reference to someone who thought the love triangle from the last movie between Cyclops/Jean/Wolverine would be ongoing.

And I don't want to say any more than that for fear of spoilers. :)

  1. Kathleen Says:

    I LOVE X-MEN

  1. Bam Says:

Halle Berry never said she didnt like the X-Men. All she said was she wanted her character to be the strong woman she's supposed to be in the comic, which is fair enough because, as much as I comend the guy for bringing the X-men franchise to the forefront, he completely ruined Storms character, and reduced her to a background character. Also, the script has been done by the same people who did X1 and X2. You say that word in the script is still bad, but all we know of the script is from the trailers ans synopsis, which does not shound bad. If you are refering to the supposed script that was online a few monts ago, it was confirmed to be a rough draft of the script, and the actual script has been through many alterations. Though I agree with you on Brett Ratner usually doing action "empty" flick, Red Dragon was, I feel, an excetion, so maybe X3 will be too. Also, it has been confimed that this will not be the last X-men movie, just the end of this specific story.

  1. kat Says:

i think xmen definitely worked bec of the team effort and chemistry on the screen...producers should think twice about making x3 the last since xmen became famous bec of how the characters have evolved together in the comics version.. many would like to see the story come to life esp if theyre portrayed by good actors..im looking forward to seeing the X3..hope this wont be the last

  1. rahnyc4 Says:

is it just me or the last 2 xmen movies seemed more like wolverine the movie rather then xmen the movie. when i think of xmen i think of cyclops, storm, beast ect... if someone who havent read a xmen comic were to watch this movie, they would have though wolverine was the leader of the xmen. i mean come on, they really need to give more parts to the other xmen characters and put wolverine in a backburn for a moment.

  1. george Says:

I absolutley love the x men and i am so glad they have given shadowcat a main part i think shes awesome and ellen page is going to be great playing her i also really like colossos, and i think theres mixed emotions about x men 3 some people beleive it cant go right because of the director and others beleive it will go right and be better than the others.I beleive that we should give brett ratner a chance to prove his film making skills and if its not good its not good we move on.

  1. Nathan Says:

please give Cyclops more screen time. Personally, I'm pissed off that we haven't seen Cyclops leading the X-men that much in the films, Wolverine is my favorite character but I don't like how he's been given more development (along with Storm for that matter) than the others including Cyclops, the X-men's field leader for godsake. In X-men 2, I got the feeling that they were trying to set up Wolverine as the team's field leader and try and destroy the love between Scott and Jean. With X-men 3 I'm getting the same vibe about it. I also reckon they will kill Cyclops off early in the movie which me and my brother agree ticks us off because he has yet to be truly developed as a character and used in some great action sequences. Cyclops would have to be my second favorite character next to Wolverine. For one movie, one freakin movie!!!, I'd like to see Cyclops get a bit more focus than the others, including the great Wolverine.

  1. george Says:

Yeah i think that is true cyclops is really meant to be the leader of the x men but the'y havent really shown that i also think they should give wolfsbane a bigger part as she is a really great freshman too.

  1. Diogo Says:

Well as you all know the plot of X-Men 3 is about a cure that threatens to suppress the mutant X gene permanently therefore ridding all the mutant’s powers completely. A mutant that I know for a fact that gets cured is Mystique. If you all pay close attention to the movie trailers you see that Mystique never appears walking along side the Brotherhood of Mutants in Magneto’s War nor in any other parts other than when she tells Magneto the source of the cure is a mutant where she refers to Leech. Towards the end of trailer 2 there is a naked woman with short black hair and blue eyes which is Rebecca Romijn alias Mystique which means she gets cured. Another mutant I think gets cured is Rogue. As you all know in the cartoon Rogue always wanted to get cured from her powers. She’s another one who doesn’t appear in the war against Magneto alongside the X-Men. Now changing subject in the first trailer Professor X is talking the situation until he gets to the part where he says “I do not know if victory is possible, I only know that great sacrifice will be required” and while he’s saying that they show a funeral in which neither him or Cyclops are present which leaves me to the conclusion that both of them die. On one part Jean Grey is resuscitated by the malevolent cosmic power of Dark Phoenix which she cannot control. In the trailer Storm is in Alkali Lake next to a body on the ground and I’m supposing it’s Cyclops. I’m thinking Dark Phoenix must’ve killed him for some reason we all know she gets pist off easily but I really don’t know why because I know that they do last a while together there are pictures and previews that show them. On the other hand in the second trailer towards the end there’s a quick view of the Professor being lifted of his chair and a person standing in front of him wearing red and who else wears red other than Dark Phoenix? I think they both start having a raging telepathic fight so powerful it even made the Professor walk before Dark Phoenix prevailed, even up against a mutant as powerful as Xavier. I am perhaps the world’ s best X-Men fan and I have nothing to criticize but to be honest I really hate the fact that they are going to kill the X-Men’s leaders and cure two interesting mutants. I also think it’s absurd to see only six X-Men (Wolverine, Storm, Beast, Colossus, Iceman and Shadowcat) against Magneto’s Brotherhood who must be like hundreds. Either way the movie looks good and if they did all that then there must have been a purpose at the end. Although I do hope there is an unexpecting turning point like all this that we’re seeing is in the future like in the cartoon and they somehow stop it from happening. If you have any questions email me at weevil8@hotmail.com

  1. BooBerry Says:

    Hey Everybody!!,
I just want to start off by saying I love Storm. She is actually (in my opinion) the best x-man ever! Just by her powers alone. Not only that, I'm disappointed in the fact that she has been reduced to a very weak character. I wish this movie stuck more in the comic. For instance, when Storm kicked Cyclops' a** without her powers in order to decide who will lead the x-men and wimpy cyclops went crying off and formed X-factor.. Aah..good times...
Anyway, I thought Ana said if she didn't get a better role in x-men 3 she wasn't going to play as rogue???? So hopefully, that means they'll finally give her some powers. Her character (in my opinion) is rather ridiculously irrelevant. As far as being in this movie why even have Rogue if she is going to be some whiny little baby who can't do anything but cower and kiss Wolverine's a**???
As far as Cyclops leading the X-Men, didn't he do most of that in X 1?? I know they always focus on Wolverine, but they even do that in the comic as well. I still have no idea why. I wish they could have balanced out the characters a little better to have equal focus.
Here's the main problem..that I have with the movie..why the flippin' hell has storm not flown???? why does she always run when something's going on??? The only time she actually had any flight was when Toad was beating her a** in X 1?? What's wrong with this picture??
I feel they have weakened everyone's character (heroes) with the exception of wolverine and Jean Grey. As far as the villians are concerned, I'm disappointed with the way Mystique looks. She's bad as hell but her character looks awful. I was wishing for a more traditional Mystique. However, I'm sure lots of you like the way she looks in the movie but I just don't get the scaly thing.
Oh and where oh where is Emma Frost???? I wanted the Hellfire club to be in this one so bad!!!!! That's another disappointment. Granted, I haven't been following closely the developments of the movie, but I'm pretty sure there is no Hellfire Club in this one.. waaaaaaaah!!
Well, that's it for now and the trailer I've seen so far looks pretty exciting. Let's all be optimisitc about it and just chill on insulting each other~ Much Love,
    Angelique
(wow you'd think this were a letter!!)

  1. phoenix622 Says:

I still think the excite-o-meter should be higher. You guys have no faith in Brett Ratner. I hope you dont plan to go to the midnight showing with that attitude.

  1. yourmamaondrugs Says:

Yeaaaa. You guys are all weird and have no life. I agree that it will be a good movie, but I wont go into detail like you bickering little kids. Jeez.

  1. Kandace Says:

You have the nerve to call us wierd when you have a name like that.lol

  1. matt Says:

i think everyones too hung up on what the movie "should" be. keep in mind the comics been going strong for over 40 years, and there are all kinds of story lines and redos and such. i mean, technically theres no right way to tell the story. the same goes for the movies. singer even told ratner he could continue what hed laid out, or he could tell the story he wanted to tell. and whos to say this will be the last GOOD xmen movie. ya ya ya i know famke and everyone basically said this is the last one, but that doesnt mean someone else wont pick up the torch. PLUS, whos to say the title implies its the last movie anyway. i mean, sure "last" is in the title, but this could just be the battle that gets everything started. notice that in the comic, phoenix caused quite a bit of problems but the comic didnt end.
on another not, i dont think the mutant cure thing will be a significantly larger part of the story than phoenix. i think thats just a ploy to fool the audience. i do, however, seriously doubt there will be any planet or star destroying, or any space travel of any kind since the original phoenix story line was pretty much written during the space race and the whole country was focused on space. its just what was relevant to the readers at the time. i think it'd be pretty cheesey if they took that route. but i think famke's done an awsome job as jean.
i also think everyone needs to give halle a break. keep in mind NO ONE HAS MET HER and NO ONE KNOWS WHAT HER LIFE IS LIKE. do u like it when people talk crap about you behind your back? im sure you dont even care, but thats not the point. personally, all i care about is how the performance comes off on the screen.
anywho, im really excited about the movie, and the only thing im worried about, like several people have said, is that itll be too much of a "shoot em up" action movie with too little actual story line. i dont want to watch a video game.

  1. Lexy Says:

WHO ELSE IS ABSOLUTLY WANTING TO SEE WOLVERINE AND ROGUE JUST FALL INTO EACH OTHERS ARMS AND JUST HAVE A GOSH DARNED ROMANCE ALREADY!???

if anyoneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee has ANYYY kind of spoilers or info. about them becoming a couple in any of the upcoming movies or spin-offs pleaseee let me know!!!!!

im wishing and hoping and praying that X3 has them as a couple.

  1. Jordan F@Mk3 real number one 1 Says:

I think X3 will be really good. I don't think they could've done it with out Famke though.

    She is the koolest

  1. chaz saunders Says:

Ok me personally I love Storm the character she is the most coolest thing ever and as for wolverine he is awesome but theys should focus a little less on a certain individual and focus more on the group it's X-men not wolverine men or storm men They need to develop all of the characters and allow them a send off that this franchise so rightfully deserves !!!!!!!!!! THat is why I fell in love with X-men in the first place!!!!!!

  1. MAX Says:

I beleive x-men the last stand is quite a interesting movie because i know the story behind this movie as i am a great comic fan of x-men.the movies of x-men 1 and 2 were quite an appreciating movie but x-men the last stand will be quite good. I wish the crew members of x-men 3 my good luck and may their movie be very famous than before.thanks

  1. Hank Pena Says:

Folks. I'll put it simply. All I want to see is a bunch of heroes and villans duking it out and saying cool lines. A couple of in-jokes and a big explosion at the end...I'll be happy. Sure, it's a little too much of a Jim Lee-ish take on the movie's potential....but, jesus christ folks....it's x-men...not casablanca! - hank pena -revere, ma

  1. Jacob Says:

i am excited to go see the movie but i dont want 9it to be the last one and it sux that cyclops died sorry if i gave u a spoiler!

  1. Josh2 Says:

Jeez people, relax and just be happy that they even MADE an X-Men movie in the first place. If you don't like how it's going so far, get off ur a**, write a script, cast who you want, hire whichever director u see most fit to helm it, and film the damn thing. And then sit back and take in all the things that people think YOU f***ed up on with the franchise. Its like these people who are so-called "elite" Tolkien fans who are so pissed about the liberties that Peter Jackson took with filming the LOTR movies, claiming that he left out key characters and scenes from the book, YET at the same time are the same ones complaining that the films were "too damn long".

WHAT'S IT GOING TO TAKE TO MAKE YOU FANBOYS HAPPY???

  1. X-menforever!!!! Says:

I get picked on at school for loving the X-movies, but to be quite honest i dont care. I think they're with out a bloomin doubt the best movies ever! As long as Jean/Phoenix, Logan and Scott are involved im happy. I have had a countdown in my school books for 204 days and no one can stop me now!! wait scott dies?????? noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo if thats right ill cry (not as much as for jean though) shes my fave :(:(:(:(:(:(:( the longer the film the better cant the blinking humans just die already???? sorry ill calm down in a year or two

  1. Danny Tomas Says:

Yep James's Cyclops dies off early. He apparently asked for this because Singer asked him to do superman. James plays Lois lover in Superman as we might all know. I infact still will say its going to be a great movie other wise. Personaly Singer wasn't the best choice for X-men. He did an ok job. This new director has done well I'd say. And Beast will most yes's be the best on film. Logan will of course have more screen time. Like always. But it looks real good.

  1. Charlotte Says:

WHO ELSE IS ABSOLUTLY WANTING TO SEE WOLVERINE AND ROGUE JUST FALL INTO EACH OTHERS ARMS AND JUST HAVE A GOSH DARNED ROMANCE ALREADY!???

    You and the other pedophiles.

  1. movie boy Says:

i dont really care what other people think about it if they like it or not but as for me i really cant wait till it comes out i think it looks really good and glad they made another 1 so wow cool for them

  1. clint eastwood Says:

ooo look, I didnt hide, I put my name!!
damn people lol, like who gives their real name, like EVER!

    duhh
re-the movie, hollywood has gone to the heads of the x saga. Its not going to be as good.
Whilst I think storm is a requirement , Halle Berry is the worst actor under the sun (you only have to see 99% of her movies to see that) so who the hell is she to complain!
Its a shame, that it simply wont follow the likes of x1 and 2
    they were awesome!

  1. ICEMAN LOVER Says:

I love IceMan he is so sexy and also brave. He is my favorite character in the movies. I only watch for him and then of course pyro he's really cool but he's bad guy now so i don't like him in #3....LATE....

  1. mara Says:

  1. X-menforever!!!! Says:

I cant wait!!!! weve booked tickets for 25th after school. Im not gonna be able to concentrate!!!!!!
Scott's the cutest, not logan or iceman (retch) yes im weird. But why in the hell does Xavier die too? doesnt that defeat the object?
Well done 20th century fox, youve killed off both of the best characters, oh and Xavier but that doesnt really bother me I guess.
I live in PLymouth (England) and the weather is crap. Ive been walking to school humming the X-soundtrack. Does anyone else think im completely obsessed or is it just me?
Bring in on X3, but you wont beat the first two.
    P.s I hate Rogue!!!!

  1. KC Says:

wow its funny how people hate storm/halle berry. I think she's one of the best in this movie and now she has even more better actions scenes...i cann't wait. this movie is gonna rule

  1. endo Says:

from what ive seen in trailers, there still is no Gambit wich was my favorit mutant!!! Im sure that the movie will still be great anyway, i cant wait to see it!

  1. merts Says:

This would an awesome movie. My favourite movie character is still there WOLVERINE Hugh Jackman Ia my favourite character in this movie.
I cant wait to watch this movie to feel the electrifying super dooper fantastic and breathtaking movie .I dont know if that make sense. What ever they say about it i dont freakin care as long as they will show in theaters.
I have alraedy sen the preview it was fantastic.Everyone that would watch will surely say its the best movie ever of this year................
I want to watch it so bad

  1. Wolverine Luver Says:

wow, I mean, I don't really care if it's good or bad, I mean I'll still love x-men anyway. Besides, how could a movie be so horrible when the wolverine is just ssssssssooooooooooooo HOT!!!

  1. GAMBIT Says:

we'll i already watched the film here in the philippines...

it's a great one but, why do they have to kill a lot of the main character...

isn't in the comic and the cartoon...they live much longer!

  1. X-menforever!!!! Says:

Im going to see the film after school tommorow. I cnat wait. Im taking a box of tissues with me though. I love Scott. :((((((

  1. Jamez Says:

Ahhh...I finally put a post up:D. Anyways, I love X-Men, always have, always will. No matter the turn out of the movie, I think it will be great. I'm looking forward to IceMan that actually takes his TRUE mutation form..(if you x-men fanatics know what im talkin about)..I cant wait 2 c collosus, and hopefully Angel, with only small role in the movie, will do a good job for the character. ok this is a spoiler so ---SPOILER---- i already read the book of the movie, i already know what happens in the end. But @ the END..Logan teahces a class...he takes role for the class he calls of the names, *A dark-haired fella was next, hanging back in the shadows, playing with a couple of cards, suprisingly hard to see despite the Day-Glo desighn of his uniform. Logan sensed at first sight this "Gambit" would be trouble, which suited him just fine. "Remy LeBeau?" No spoken answer, just a curt nod of the head and the flash of eyes that glowed red in the darknes...* So yes Gambit IS in the movie but hes a teenager and X3 is the last movie..except for Wolverine's prequel that Hugh JackMan is producing as well. Hopefully, If you're a true X-Men Fan, you will notice on X2 when mystique is looking for files of Magneto in his prison, She scrolls down and suddenly stops @ ' Remy LeBeau'..hinting he was in prison b4 he went to the school?

  1. Wolverine Says:

X-MEN 3 WAS AMAZING! I went to go see it at midnight and at first I hated the ending. But since I stayed after the credits, I was very happy. So yes people, you have to wait until the credits are over or you'll miss something that's very cool!
And just a question out of curiousity...Where is Nightcrawler?

  1. Jake Says:

    i'm the juggernaught bitch!

  1. Sean Says:

I too went to see it at midnight, and it was good but I was a little disappointed by it. I mean some more character development would have been nice for a couple of them, but what can I say? I might go see it again though. I am a movie geek. I think X2 was better though. Nightcrawler is my favorite of all time and Angel is second. I was hoping to see more of him. Maybe we will see him in the 4th as Archangel? And maybe some more Juggernaut. He was Great. Little small, but still good. See yall at the next one.

  1. sir_real. Says:

i was at the pre-showing last night, well i should really say early this morning, the showing was at 12:01am at AMC 16 in burbank. all in all i liked the movie, notice i used the word "like." it was action packed, little chatter, and a whole lot of heartbreaks. i was already expecting the heart breaks though, i somewhat followed the comics religiously when i was young. i understand that they couldn't cram everything in with the time they were alotted, so they did the best they could. "A+" for effort, "B-" for the final product. GO WATCH IT!!

  1. franakin Says:

  1. jt Says:

x3 THE best movie ihave ever seen in my life.... my favoret chareter was kitty, however i thik in the movie they should had used her other name SHADOWCAT. I also like juggernaugh, but i wish gambit was in this movie....

  1. trevor Says:

ellen page as kitty pryde is hot!!!!!
and x men the last stand rule to!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. x3_fan Says:

okay someone PLEASE tell me ! do rogue and bobby stay together in X-Men 3 or does Bobby go with that stupid b*tch Kitty Pryde ? do Rogue and Bobby kiss AT ALL in the movie ? someone PLEASE tell me !

  1. Nikki Says:

I thought it was done relatively well - I didn't like Hale Berry being in Catwoman so I wasn't overly big on her for this movie until I seen her in acion in the movie and I'm impressed - I'm back to being a fan of her. I think the movie was done pretty well actually - Bobby and Rogue are still together x3_fan. I rather liked the movie actually.

  1. Fagneto Says:

I heard Juggernaut is smaller than the original. Too bad nightcrawler is not in this one it would be a even crazier movie. Jubilie was not asian in the comic book or cartoon but o well. I swear Colossus was suppose to have an european accent but in the movie he doesn't. I do believe Nightcrawler, Mystique, and The beast should be one happy family. Why? because they're all blue and the best mutants in X-men. I Can't wait until Gambit comes in the movies it will be even better.

  1. Kristoff Says:

this movie pretty much kicked ass
i need to say tho that it needs to be redone
the ending wasnt good enough, the fight blew major ass
juggernaut didnt have a big enough role in the film for the character he truely is in the comics and you def can't have beast be such a korny character. dont get me wrong he kicked ass, but he said so much stupiid stuff thoughout the fight scene.
the movie ended way to sudden also
it needs to be revised and def needs to be at least an hour and 1/2 longer- nodoubt
the plot tho was pretty awesomei just feel that very imortant characters had too cheesey of roles
i dont know how well i sequel will be tho with so many great characters being vanquished by Gene's crazy powers such as Professor Xavier, Cyclops and of course Juggernaut( he had to have died in that crazy fury by Gene)
    anyway
all of you losers hating on the sequels piss off and stay out of these convos

  1. jeyson james el increible cyclops Says:

Good hellow to those of EE.UU I am from GOOD PERU I NOT AND SEEN THE PELI BUT ANYHOW I HER(IT) AM GOING TO SEE x men 1 and 2 it(he,she) is well vacan well I am re fanatic of the xmen have 5 poster have in whole 22 dolls of xmen the 1 and 2 and now mas dela peli delos x men 3! Bark!
I it do not even imagine if out a mutant wanted to be since(as,like) cyclops the best good fighter her(it) q rich this one a greeting is mistique for cyclops

  1. wolverine Says:

i dont get how cyclops died.
anyway i like the movie very much.
the ending was weird cause magneto had still powers, should there come a fourth movie?
    i hope so.
i didnt expect that mystique would turn into a human.

  1. Deadly Justice Says:

i think x-men 3 was great they could have had more mutants but it was great, they still could have had gambit and cable, they could also have had more of the sentinals.

i am a collector of the comics and watch the films but i think they did well and i think they could have done a couple more films with all the mutants they missed.

it was a good movie and there was lots of action but it needed the mutants it missed. it could have had bishop and more of the villians. such as appocalips or mr sinaster

  1. Michael Bridges Says:

Ok X-Men the last stand was a preaty good film. They did a good job of puting it all together, but I don't understant what happend to all of the X-Men that where in X-2. Take Nightcrawler for instance. he was a ne founded mutant in the X-me, but he was not featured in X-3. Cyclops was one of the main mutant X-men in the 1 and 2 movie. but he was killed by the phoenix after he went back to the lake. I guess if this is truly the last stand for the X-Men movies i guess it is alright that they pu tin some twists. Rouge cured herself so she can be wtih iceman also none as bobby, just becuase he was getting close to kitty. Xaviar died by being totaly obliverated by the phoenix. magneto was cured but still had some of his magnitism left. after all he is a class 4 mutant. Wolverine did a good job playing the part. but when it came down to gim and the phoenix. he should have being killed to if it wasn't for the healing factor he poseses. the all powerful pheonix could of obliverated wolverine in an instent if it wan't for the small part of jean still left. The fact of the matter is that everything happend to quick, if they made it into a 4 hour movie or even a 2 parter they could of pulled of one of the best movies ever. X-Men 3 is still a fantaastic movie. one of the best i have seen in a long time. All i have to say is that if by some chance another movie is to be created, they should make it into a to part movie. Also what is this that i have hered about the guy who plays wolverine is goin to do a spin off movie?

  1. MaryCherry Says:

Jubilee is Chinese-American in the comics, though she rarely looked it. Once again, though, she's little more than a blip in this movie. That's too bad, because I always thought she was cool.

One thing I found odd was Leech's name change. In X3 he's called Jamie Maddicks, rather than Artie Maddicks as in the comics. This is a bit disconcerting since The Multiple Man's name is Jamie Madrox.

Another bit of oddness is Bolivar Trask who is, for some reason, African-American in this movie.

The only real problem I had with the movie was that it was too short. It seemed, much like X-Men, to be a trailer for a much longer movie.

Even so, to judge by the crowd at the theatre, a good time was had by all.

  1. Halon Wolf Says:

Well first off if you guys were into XMEN like you say you were, you would have known that at the end (after the credits) there was abouther 2 minutes to the movie!!!! Little but all the same it leaves it wide open to a 4th one.

Which if you have seen the end then you know that they are really not dead!!!! OMG yeah please that movie rocked..I think they kept it diffrent because if you as a XMEN lover went and saw what allready happened to the in the comic books, would be to predictable.

I agree with Micheal what happened to all the other mutants like Nightcrawler?? was dissappointed by it. Also the cure is not a perminate cure just temporary so Rogue will be back!!

Also the reason Pheonix did not kill logan was 1 his healing, 2 her love for him! yeah I siad it
she killed scott cause he wasnt her true love, Logan was. Beacause he fought for her and did not agree with what Prodessor X did to her

  1. ME! Says:

Ok, I went to see the movie last night and I had set my hopes high that this movie would rock!
But my hopes was crashed. I did like certain parts, but then certain parts pushed me away from loving the movie...I believe that this movie could have been way better.

  1. Nick Says:

honestly, i really liked this movie. having not read the comic books probably helped but i found it very entertaining. i don't know why it got such bad reviews. it's not like it's gonna win an academy award. it's strictly to be entertained. i like how all the characters died. they really took a chance with that one. oh, and wow! Famke Jannsen is HOT! i couldn't believe it! WOW!

  1. X-menforever!!!! Says:

I did not enjoy this movie. Infact i cried throughout the entire thing including the adverts beforehand.my mum thought about sending me to a shrink because i cried so much. Scott and Jean didnt have to die. I did stay after the credits and that clip was weird. I cried all the next day aswell. Brett ratner is stupid why the heck would anyone kill off all the main characters for heavens sake??? if i were to kill anyone off it would be kitty, bobby, rogue, storm or any of the evil ones. Jean rules and scott is by a milimetre second. The novelisation is unnaccurate. X-men the movie and X2 are the best movies ever made and x3 is rubbish, it didnt focus on xmen at all, it was sooo bad!!!

Famke Janssen and Jimmy Marsden made the X-men, Halle berry just interfered

  1. Lance Says:

So, i was just wondering... Where the hell is Gambit?!? and why is Rogue with Iceman? I was pretty sure Rogue and Gambit were trying to hook up in the original Comics... Owell, I know that in the comics Rogue was cured but the cure slowly wore off. I can't see them not making another movie, and when they do.... BRING IN GAMBIT!!!

  1. James Howlett (Wolverine\\\'s real name) Says:

I think this movie is going to definitely be the last of the X-Men movie series because of so many main characters dying.

P.S. There will be a Movie completely about Wolverine. There will also be another movie completely about Magneto.

  1. Janis Says:

Man, I saw the movie with my friend and,
i have not seen all the x-men movies but Stormy was my fav.
But The Dude with wings was hawt. and now i'm scared of Jane. :O

  1. XMENCHICK Says:

Ok i saw the movie i thought it was great but we all have our opinions. I didnt see the clip at the end, however. Could someone tell me what it was about?

  1. James Howlett Says:

WHAT HAPPENED IN THE SCENE AFTER THE CREDITS?!?!?!?!

    P.S. Magneto ROCKS!!!!!

  1. R.Z. Says:

x-men is awesom..wolverine-hot, angel-hot its all good. (there was something after the credits?)

  1. erica Says:

the title of this lead me to think it was the last one. but the end leaves me unfulfilled.
a friend said to stay until after the end credits, it was awsome.
do ya wanna know what happened?

  1. Kevin Melendez Says:

x-men 3 was so freaking awsome. the cool thing was that the movie had some funny parts.not like the secong movie. the thing that really sucks is that night crawler was not in the movie.jean looked so hot!!! in some parts.beast was funny and cool. i didnt no he could fight like that.rouge got so jealous of booby and kitty.and how did maneto get his powers back?

  1. QUESTION PLZ ANSWER Says:

What is your opinion on why it looks like Professor Charles Xavier is in the hospital after the credits?

P.S. I noticed that the nurse walking inside Proffessor Xavier's room had her eyes flash yellow like Mystiques for a second.

    PLZ ANSWER!!!!! I'M REALLY CONFUSED!!!!!!!

  1. Answer Man! Says:

Magneto got his powers back because the cure, which is supposed to be permanent, is only temperary, thus meaning that Rogue and Mstique also got their powers back.

In the last scene the nurse says "Charles?".

Proffessor Xavier mind jumped into another body(they alluded this when Xavier was talking about ethics with a class, with the video footage of the comatose guy and he mentioned adding another person's conciousness into another person).

    Any more questions? Just Ask!

  1. X-menforever!!!! Says:

At the end after the credits(from what i remember inbetween sobs) is this:
You see the man who Xavier showed the class near the beginning(you know the one who cant wake up os similar)
Well you see him and then the nurse from the video he showed the class walks in and looks at the monitor connected to his heart etc. Then she looks surprised cos there is some brain activity and the man says her name. She recognises the voice and looks at the man. #
    "charles?" she says
(the nurse was some kind of "old flame" of his you see).
    Thats about it !!!
    So Xavier may live...
    Scott and Jean however... :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
I cried, screamed and freaked out the whole cinema...
I must be the first possessed 13 year old in a long while!!!
IM POSSESSED (AND OBSESSED) BY THE FIRST X-MEN MOVIES!!!
(but the third isnt in the same league at all!!!!!
    From Jeanxxx

  1. Needle Says:

I've been a fan of x-men since before "Inferno" in the eighties (which dates me, I know). I have always loved Jean and Scott (I felt sorry for Him when he turned to Madelyn. Although I hid it well, I had tears in my eyes at the end when Logan did "what he had to do." Man. Was so psyched to see these movies (all throght jr. high, the big debate among my friends was who would play the x-men if they ever made a movie. The only guess that ANYONE got correct was Patrick Stewart. He was born for that role.) but when Jean dies at the end, I felt like a part of my childhood died with her. :( *sniff*
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
I just thought this was funny:

    "Josh Says:

    Anonymous...

First quit hiding and use a name.

Second, the fact that you still think the "love triangle" will be ANY part of this movie shows you know absolutely nothing about what's going on with this movie.

That puts you in absolutely no position to critque the opinions of those who HAVE been paying attention to more than just the film's flashy trailer."

  1. Marrie Says:

I thought the movie was awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But Angel cuold have and should have shown up more. There also should be another X-Men movie where Magneto gets his power over metal back.

  1. Warren Worthington III Says:

Yeah Angel's character should have been included in more action.

It was pretty intense when Angel was cutting his wings off. *ouch*

  1. steve Says:

x-men evolution and x3 is my favorite film

  1. Phoenix Says:

x-men rocks I loved all 3 movies and whos to say they wont be a 4th one out their one day

You all know it might come true since Eric aka magneto has no powers and that Mystique is human now since she was hit by the cue for mutants....I hated it when they had KILLED most of the people in the movie that was not supposed to be dead but had died anyways and WTF why did they had to kill off Cyclops what was the point and amough others that had died or either lost their mutant powers...

I missed the ending of the Credits where they had said that Charlas had lived But now I know they might come out with a 4th one to get this all straighted out

    GO X-MEN

  1. X-girl Says:
