John Glenn proved you are never to old to go into space. So, as part of their long standing tradition of "cashing in" Hollywood has jumped on the geriatric bandwagon and pushed out the doors Space Cowboys. With a little help form venerable actors James Gamer, Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, and Tommy Lee Jones, this ship blasts off soon in a theatre near you.

I'll tell you right now, I have a hard time thinking of any of these old farts as astronauts... Well maybe Tommy Lee Jones, but that's only because he isn't quite as crusty as the others. The Space Cowboys trailer did little to dispel this feeling.

I think they are trying to push this as an action movie, but the truth is it was very difficult for them to put all that much action in... I doubt Garner's heart could take it.

While we're on the subject of James Garner, has anyone else noticed how in the past year or so he has taken on the appearance of a walking corpse? That darn Dr. Frankenstein is at it again I think.

But hey, I love all four of these actors, each of them is a genius in his own right. But come on, this premise is grade A goofy. There is some old satellite up there that is so old only these guys can fix it? What you can't draw a picture on a napkin and tell some young buck "push this button here" It ain't that hard. The trailer makes this thing look like Apollo 13: Nursing Home in Space.

But, with a cast like this, you just can't discount this movie. There has to be something to it or these four greats wouldn't be in it. I for one bit the bullet and watched it.. and then I watched it again! I was surprised to discover I actually like this film. I won't say I love it, I won't say its wonderful, but its a nice chance to watch four of the greatest old farts ever to walk the earth have one last good romp. You don't want to miss that.
