Football players Nathaniel Claybrooks and Christopher Johnson think so. Today, the two men spoke out about bringing a lawsuit against both the Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Claybrooks and Johnson plan to file Wednesday, saying the show has discriminated for over a decade.
Which brings us to The Bachelor, one of ABC’s former juggernauts, which entered its 16th season to alright ratings. The new season of The Bachelor features winemaker Ben Flajnik, who formerly was shot down on a season of The Bachelorette. The show premiered at 8 p.m. ET to 7.74 million viewers, which is an ouch of a 13% drop from last year’s premiere. Even more gruesome was the second hour of the show, where ratings where down 17%.
Jersey Shore ended Season 4 without a bang a couple of weeks ago. Ratings showed a pretty big drop from the season’s start, reaching a mere 6.6 million viewers (down from 8.8 at the beginning). Mike might have gotten irritable and Jwoww may have started hanging out with Sammi; but hopefully, things will settle down as the cast returns from Italy and heads to the more familiar Seaside Heights, NJ.

I don’t watch The Bachelor. Not a fan of competitive dating, myself but since ABC’s always releasing new clips, I’ve had the chance to catch bits and pieces of this season. So far none of it has seemed all that interesting to me but this week’s episode includes a bungee jumping segment that, from the video we have, actually looks pretty good.
While ABC is apparently not ready to announce any pick-ups officially yet, rumor has it, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Extreme Makeover Home Edition, America’s Funniest Home Videos and The Bachelor are all very close to seeing another season. What’s more, the future is looking very good for Ugly Betty despite reports that the series is going on a hiatus this spring.
