Hans Zimmer Talks About The Dark Knight
The Caped Crusader made a valiant return to the screen last summer with Batman Begins, giving the character and his villains a fresh start. With that clean slate came a new score composed by the amazing team of Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard. Soundtracknet recently sat down with Zimmer to talk about plans for the two to unite for next year's sequel, The Dark Knight.

Zimmer hasn't officially been offered the job, yet saying "Nothing is ever certain. They haven't even finished the script yet.". It's likely he'll get the job, though, and he's set on bringing Howard along again. "Absolutely! I should say we are doing Batman. I wouldn't leave home without him!"

Some fans of the original Batman theme that Danny Elfman created for the first film were disappointed that it was only briefly used towards the end of Batman Begins. "Absolutely," said Zimmer, "that's the whole idea. It's Batman Begins! There's a whole theme that's written and on purpose not in the movie. We were basically betting that this movie might work out alright and there would be another one, so we wanted the character to develop. He hasn't earned that theme yet!"

The Dark Knight is set to arrive in theaters in late 2008. For more information on the movie visit Cinema Blend's Preview
