Harry Gregson-Williams, the musical magician behind all three Shrek films, composed the wonderful score to The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and is likely hard at work right now on Prince Caspian which is due in theaters next summer. However, he won't be back for the third movie. According to a statement on his web site, David Arnold, the man behind the music for Shaft, Independence Day and five James Bond projects has been tapped to score Dawn Treader. While Arnold has an impressive record when it comes to action and sci-fi soundtracks, fantasy films aren't exactly his forte. His fantastic work on the recent Amazing Grace gave him a chance to show his softer side, but Narnia is still a whole world away. Here's hoping he's up to the task. Aslan commands only the best, and Reepacheep is going to need some solid scoring for his swashbuckling scenes. |
