Ten, count them, ten new soundtrack releases this week including two from the Golden Globe nominations list. Alexandre Desplat's score to The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Hans Zimmer's compositions for Frost/Nixon are both up for the award and are likely candidates when the Academy Award nominations roll out next month.
There's plenty of mediocrity hitting shelves as well. Songs from the movie Yes Man include songs by EELS but only one new song. If you're a fan there's not much new for you to enjoy. Theodore Shapiro's score for Marley & Me is slim on length and even slimmer on interesting music. For a better bet check out John Ottman's work on Valkyrie or Alberto Iglesias' Guerilla.
