Am The Walrus" or "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds"? Did the sixteen track, single disc release of the
Across The Universe soundtrack not have enough of the movie's re-envisioned Beatle's music for you?
Well, your in luck. The deluxe edition is arriving and it has TWO discs with thirteen more songs than
the regular edition. Unfortunately, there's no way to just get the new songs without buying the whole set
(unless you're buying them one at a time online). Don't panic. Just take your regular edition disc to
Hastings and trade it in. Hey, all you need is love...and a music store that buys used CDs.
Rendition
Paul Hepker and Mark Kilian, the duo that collaborated for the Tsotsi score, teamed up again to
give Rendition a very Middle Eastern feel, using instruments and vocals that reflect the part of
the world where the movie turns its focus. If you're interested in some ethinic style music, including a
few Middle Eastern pop and techno songs, there might be something to catch your ear.
Battlestar Galactic: Season 3
Even if you've never seen the show (and even if you never plan to), Bear McCreary's score is absolutely
not to be missed. Frankly, I don't think that the wasteland that was the writing for Season 3 of the show
was worthy of such inspired sounds. Full of rich themes you would expect from a cinematic score this is
some of McCreary's best work yet.
