Yes Man Soundtrack - Zooey Deschanle Rocks The KeytarAuthor: Scott Gwin

The reality is Munchausen By Proxy is the fake 80's-homage-esque band from the film and the leadsinger is the character played by the beautiful and talented Zooey Deschanel. That's right...Zooey jamming out on the keytar. Sound awful? It's actually kind of hilarious in a Twilight-Zone way. The rest of the band is comprised by real-life synth-pop group Von Iva. The four "Munchausen" songs on the disc are worth hearing if not worth actually buying. Fans of EELS can rejoice in the fact that the remainder of the soundtrack is comprised of classic songs from Mark Oliver Everett's ever-changing band. If you've never heard of EELs, the disc is apparently a pretty good introduction. Eight of the nine EELS tracks are described as band classics with only one new song, "Man Up", written just for the film. I'm new to the band, but my first impression is a mildly depressed and slightly more angsty version of The Shins. But don't take my word for it...the songs are available at iTunes and the soundtrack hits shop shelves tomorrow. TRACK LISTING
