It’s time to celebrate the Christmas/ Chanukah/ Kwanza/ Festivus Holiday season, so here at Cinema Blend we’re enjoying Twelve Days of Christmas. Yes, we know traditionally the “12 days” start with Christmas, but we plan on being celebrated out by that time, so we’re pushing the twelve days leading up to the holiday.
Here in Blend Tech, we’re celebrating with a geeky wish list. Sadly, these are gifts we’d love to have, but will only be able to wish about since they aren’t likely to exist anytime soon. That’s the joy of science-fiction and fantasy, imagining the future, it’s just a shame this stuff isn’t real yet.
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…
The ability to go anywhere in time and space
We’ve had a time machine of sorts on this list already, and the flying car could take us anywhere, but as long as we’re going for pipe dreams, we might as well combine the two and wish for a device that allows us to travel anywhere in time and space. Enter the good Doctor, and the TARDIS of Doctor Who.
The TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space and is pretty much your all purpose science fiction vehicle. Not only can it take you anywhere at any time, but the special relations of the TARDIS afford ample space despite appearances (the inside is bigger than it looks) and the camouflage element allows it to blend in with any surroundings (as long as yours isn’t stuck in one shape like the Doctor’s.
There’s just one warning we should issue to those attempting to get this gift: the use of it may take you to regions of time and space inhabited by low-budget menaces such as animated mannequins and trash cans. Use at your own risk and don’t expect superior special-effects while in use.
