Bungie Helps A Sad Gamer

By Steve West: 2008-03-08 04:46:02
Bungie Helps A Sad Gamer About a week a go there was a gamer named Nathaniel who went through some hard times. The lucky lad had an Xbox 360 that was signed by members of Bungie, Rooster Teeth Studios (creators of the machinema “Red vs Blue” based on Halo) and some artwork. This was a priceless machine that happened to red ring. So like a good gamer who trusts their master, Nathaniel sent the console to Microsoft for repair, with a note explicitly stating he wanted his console back as it arrived.

Well, he did get his console back. There were smudges where the signatures and artwork had been. All of it was gone. And immediately the gaming community caused a ruckus, and faster than you can say, “get to da choppa!,” the Bungie crew came out to say they had plans to make it right. And right they did.

bs angel has been keeping an eye on the situation, and now we have word that Nathaniel has received a righteous package from Bungie. Included is a Legendary Halo 3 helmet with signatures from most of the staff, a 2-disc set of the Halo 3 soundtrack signed by Marty O’Donnel. And a hell of a lot more goodies that more than helps the situation.

For their part Microsoft has not offered anything officially. They have stated that there is a plan to rectify the situation as best they can. Even though the console can never be replaced it’s still great to see companies like Bungie and Microsoft step up to the plate when wrong doing is afoot.
