CyFi Brings Music To Your Bike...And The Whole Neighborhood

You know what fascinates me? Lots of things actually, but one that I can talk about here is that you can get a radio on your motorcycle or bike. Think about that for a second…do you understand the problem? I’ve pulled up to a red light listening to blaring music, look over and see a guy on a crotch rocket “listening” to music. I can get behind the idea of a Bluetooth hookup in a helmet to play the music, although I think the legality of that is in question.

CyFi is a wireless speaker for your bike. Now a bike maybe makes more sense. You don’t have wind whipping around you at 45mph, so there’s a decent chance you’ll hear the music. You wanna know who else will hear your decision to blare the Jonas Brothers? Everyone. Look, maybe I’m getting to be that old dude who complains about the damn rock music the kids listen to. I know that watching the VMA’s a few nights ago I was confused as to who many of the people were. Equally surprising was that Kid Rock and Slipknot are not dead. Who knew?

The CyFi works on the 2.4 Ghz frequency, which means you’ll need a dongle to get your music player of choice (likely one of the new colorful iPod Nanos) to work. This version will run you about $200, while the Bluetooth model is about $180. You can pick either one up on September 22nd.
