Find Your Soul Geek In New Community

Even though social networking seems like it’s waning, there are still more sites coming out trying to cater to specific groups. Remember, MySpace started as a way for musicians to connect and promote themselves. Facebook was started as a college social network. Now we have one specifically catering to the Internet’s primary resident: the geek.

Soulgeek is designed to help geeks and others into sci-fi, anime, horror, fantasy, and more meet and hang out online. Although its description lists it as a “premiere dating site”, the people behind it really want it to just be an online community – a place geeks can call home. The site was created in part by Dino Andrade, who provides the voice for Skull the Troll in the PVP animated series, which is the site that clued me into it.

Unlike a lot of other community and dating sites out there, Soulgeek is free, and actually looks a lot more user friendly than MySpace.
