The new application works with Google Earth but lacks the similar moniker, simply titled “Sky”. It’s available in the newest beta-version of Google Earth, accessible through a toolbar button on the console. Like Google Earth, it works through photographs pieced together, giving the user a form of a planetarium on your PC. Apparently you can use the application to explore galaxies, clusters, black holes, and even the surface of Mars. This is a pretty cool step for Google Earth and I can’t wait to see what they do with it next. In the meantime, however, if you’re looking for me I’ll be at my computers, looking at the stars. |
