Google Earth Takes To The Stars
Google has given you the ability to search the vast Internet with their original Google service and search the planet with Google Earth. Now they’re taking that ability into the stars – literally. Google has announced a new feature that allows users to stargaze from their computer, exploring the stars, looking at planets, and zooming through space.

The new application works with Google Earth but lacks the similar moniker, simply titled “Sky”. It’s available in the newest beta-version of Google Earth, accessible through a toolbar button on the console. Like Google Earth, it works through photographs pieced together, giving the user a form of a planetarium on your PC. Apparently you can use the application to explore galaxies, clusters, black holes, and even the surface of Mars.

This is a pretty cool step for Google Earth and I can’t wait to see what they do with it next. In the meantime, however, if you’re looking for me I’ll be at my computers, looking at the stars.
