People have been doing some weird things with their Wii’s. Going on Youtube and looking for videos can yield some questionable material, which is another way of saying it’s dirty nasty. Then there are simply the cool ideas. A Wii Modder has decided to combine the greatness of Zelda with the benefits of a charity. I have to say that this is without a doubt the best mod I have ever seen.
If you remember waking up on Christmas morning to an NES, then spending the day picking at turkey and whatever cookies your dad didn’t eat while pretending to be St. Nick as you played through The Legend of Zelda, there’s a chance you may be interested in the Zelda Wii. Not just a simple paint job, this baby gets right to the essence of Nintendo’s grand franchise. The mere glimpse of the pictures puts me right back in my Transformers PJ’s trying to figure out that Lost Woods puzzle.
The modder, who claims to have gone through an extensive process to perform this feat, has teamed with Penny Arcade. Parts of the proceeds will go to their Childs Play charity. As of this writing the Zelda Wii is going for $1,225. You better start lifting up rocks for rupees because this will top $2k before the end of auction on March 25th.
