New JVC Headphones Go In Ear Canal...What?

I prefer in-ear style headphones. They’re more comfortable for me and give me great sound. JVC’s new in-ear phones may be pushing things just a little too far. The company claims to have created speaker drivers small enough to fit inside the ear canal. In the average in-ear headphones, like the ones I’m listening to Smodcast with right now, the speaker driver is in that big bulbous portion.
OK, I can see the advantage of such a design. It’d probably give a bit better sound, but more importantly the inside the ear canal location would isolate sound better. You’re not shoving things right up to your ear drum, but I’m a tad uncomfortable pushing things in there. Especially when I’m someone who listens to podcasts and audiobooks most of my free time. The last thing I want is foreign objects shoved into my ear canal. The HP-FXC50 earphones are set to release in Japan next month, no word on when the US will get them. RELATED: jvc, hp fxc50
