SpaceX Launches Falcon 1 Successfully Into Earth Orbit
SpaceX, we have orbital flight. Numerous failed attempts have finally resulted in the first privately funded rocket to enter space orbit. It’s a damn fine moment to know that someone out there had the balls to attempt, fail, and keep trying until they got it right. Even the loss of James Doohan’s ashes didn’t deter founder Elon Musk and the 550 man team at SpaceX from achieving their goal.

At 16:26 PDT a message appeared on SpaceX’s website stating: “T+0:08:21 Falcon 1 reached orbital velocity, 5200 m/s

Nominal Second stage cut off (SECO) – Falcon 1 has made history as the first privately developed liquid fueled launch vehicle to achieve earth orbit!!!!!!”

The event was witnessed during a live webcast. Now that the first major hurdle has been overtaken we can now start booking our room at the Hilton Space Hotel. A one week stay will only cost you five lifetime’s worth of income. Put me down for next summer, I’ll just put it on the Cinema Blend credit card. In other news, CB needs you to make as many $100,000 donations as possible to help pay for an exorbitant credit card statement Head Honcho Josh Tyler is expected to receive in October.
