The Uno - One Wheel For All

By Steve West: 2008-04-27 14:27:57

The Uno - One Wheel For All You thought it was impressive when a bear tooled around the circus on a unicycle. Just wait until you see one on the Uno, a single wheeled motorcycle. The cycle was built by 18 year old Ben Gulak, and he insists the bike stays stable at all times. Better yet, it is ridiculously easy to control. One switch turns it on or off, and using gyroscopes you simply lean forward to begin moving. It’s like taking the controls of Nintendo’s Wii and putting them on a motorcycle. Fun…and yet a bit dangerous.

There are two gyros on the bike, which work together to keep you upright. The Uno is currently on display at the 2008 National Motorcycle Show in Toronto, and as far as I can tell that is the only place to see it. There are no current production plans, but that could change soon. The question is whether anyone would want an Uno. I don’t see what the advantage is, other than being an ingenious piece of design work. But what do I know, I never thought Segways would matter and now Disney sets up Segway tours of Epcot each day.

This has two, read that...TWO wheels side by side about six inches apart. Every bloody article about it calls it a unicycle and says it's a "single wheeled motorcycle." If it was an actual one wheeler it would take some skill to ride it.

Get over it dustin, go cure cancer or something. That would be more benficial than just whining about what "Every bloody article " has to say oh fearsome mightily skilled warrior of two wheeled motorcycles. Also wow what an awesome idea, it's a ONE wheeled motorcycle brilliant!
