Canon Rebel XS Reviewed, Coming In July
We still don’t know exactly what the price of Canon’s new Rebel XS DSLR camera. But with reviews starting to trickle in a view of what is new and changed is becoming clear. The LCD screen on the new camera will only be 2.5”, as compared to the 3” on the XSi. This is important to many people, but why it would keep you from buying the XS is beyond me. If you’re interested in an LCD screen with Live View type functionality there are plenty of point-and-shoots for you.

The Rebel XS has an image sensor that is reportedly similar to that in the XSi. No one has been clear on just how similar they are, but so far it seems a minor difference that should make little impact on your buying decision. As has been rumored the XS will feature Live View, and again I appreciate the convenience but I do have a Cybershot for that type of stuff. Auto-focus comes in 7-point rather than the 9-point of the XS, and it turns out that the Rebel XS is the lightest of Canon’s DSLRs.

The Canon Rebel XS is expected to ship to stores worldwide in July, but no pricing has been announced. It is expected the camera will come in at a very friendly price point for those looking to get into photography.
