May is a tough month for TV. While spring marks the time of year when the TV networks make the decision to pick up and renew most of their series, it’s also the time of year when shows are cut. As this week is upfront week for the major networks, we can expect to hear plenty of big news (some good, some bad) for TV. Unfortunately, we have a whole list of bad news.

Of the cancelled shows listed above, so far ABC’s October Road and NBC’s Journeyman are the only ones I’m really going to miss. Journeyman had a lot of potential but unfortunately it also had a crappy timeslot. October Road started out rocky for me and I almost gave up on it entirely but then it hit its stride and since then, I’d really started to enjoy it. As for all of the other series, I can’t say I’m really all that disappointed that they’re gone. I'm somewhat disappointed and a little surprised that Miss Guided got cut (E!'s Kristin Dos Santos seemed pretty optimistic about that one so I figured we'd be seeing more of this show). How about you? Are you devastated over the loss of New Amsterdam, Men In Trees or any of the other shows listed above?
5/23/2008 - - Thanks to E!'s Kristin Dos Santos's spoiler blog, we've added the rest of the canceled shows, including the CW's list.

This sucks. Back To You, Journeyman & New Amsterdam were really good shows. I guess the networks don't realize it when they have a show that could grow in time.
I was so unhappy when I read that CBS has cancelled Moonlight. I really enjoyed the show. We could hardly wait for friday so we could see the show. Hopefully they will pick it up on another channel and we will be sure to tune CBS out...
i'm sorry to see moonlight, journey man, october road, men in trees go. they were great shows with good plots and creative writers. but no, the net-works think we are a bunch of idiots. who can only relate to and watch a bunch of bickering backstabbing contestants on their so called reality shows. But i can see the networks side of it reality shows cost almost nothing to produce a season. so let just keep adding to the reality show line -up . i'm sure you will find more idiots to watch. But one will be turning off the tube and opening a book . can we say Sherrilyn Kenyon ( dark-hunters )
Finally you had a great show with Men in Trees and you go and cancell it, some times you all don't have a feel for what the general public wants. Get rid of LOST we are all over it! Then bring back Men in Trees.
I agree, I loved Men in Trees. Finally, a show that is not necessary raunchy or vulgar, and it gets cancelled. I will miss Elmo. I am really irritated with ABC, and I also agree with getting rid of "LOST". What the heck is it about anyway. I cant watch it. If ABC would have put Men in Trees in a better time slot we would still be enjoying it
All I want to say is that I am so tired of shows being cancelled. At what point do we stop watching new shows because we will never get closure. Just when they start to get good they are cancelled. Maybe I will wait to watch new shows until they are in a couple of years first. How sad is that!!!
I think the networks don't give enough time for shows to get a following. We are so used to things being cancelled, why invest the time? I'm going to miss Journeyman - it was a cool premise and given the opportunity to grow would've been a cool show. It's too bad they are so concerned w/ launching new pilots, that they can't let a bloom.
I have to agree with everyone who posted about hating all these stupid 'reality' shows. I can only watch one...American Idol and even that is in moderation. I hate the fact they are canceling Moonlight, Las Vegas, and Bionic Woman. Of the three the one I will miss the most is Moonlight. I cannot always 'tune in' to the channel when it is airing...so I do record it to watch later on. But what is one to do when they have 4 children to take care of?? miss everything they like or record it? I swear if I see the addition of more bickering realty shows I will never turn on the tv again. Instead I will turn my down time into reading a book or playing Sudoku and Kakuro.
I can't believe that Cane and Journeyman were cancelled. Talk about different shows and story lines. There are not many Latino families portrayed on television and this show had a great cast and had an awesome ending. As far as Journeyman.....it was exciting and what a great concept. It was so interesting to see all the time traveling and the way that it was all inter-related. The previous comments were so correct!!! Who cares about all the reality shows....maybe the "older" demographic enjoys watching a show that makes you think.
Abc sucks! Every time they have great shows they cancel them. Men in trees never had a chance. It was on 3 different nights , got pre-emptied all the time, and was messed up seriously by the strike. You've also decided to take off october road and women's murder club . These are 3 of my favorite shows, and once again, just like with The Nine from last season we have no closure. I am going to boycott abc because why should I invest my time in their shows if they don't care less how we feel. these 3 shows have some of the best casts ever, if you want us back, bring them back and keep them on long enough for people to actually see them. They have staying power!
Wasn't the point of having so many networks that there would be more choice? That there could be niche appeal? That shows with smaller but dedicated followings would find a home? That shows dropped by the big guys would get their second chances?
Yeah, right! Instead we get informercials till noon, winning formula copy cats, and reality shows that look as if some drunken executive dared another to do it. That awful fake japanese masochicm show on Spike now has 2 primetime network imitators. I'm just old enough to remember the days of 3 networks + PBS and sometimes i think we've lost something from that time.
I"m really going to miss moonlight i thought that it was a very good love story between human and vampire,,to bad we will never know if they hook up,,makes not want to watch cbs ever again,,jericho was a good show too so sad all the good shows will be gone,,dee from michigan
U no wat i think this sucks i was going to sign up for kid nation and that is not cool those kids learned so much there and i think i could learn there if u dont bring it back im not watching any shows on CBS. Please please bring Kid Nation Back PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Again i say im mad not only for Kid nation but for October Road nad what a crappy ending. Kid nation was fulled 2 the 3rd season and i was going to sign up u guys suck. i need that show to survive and that was the only thing to do on Wensdays and now nothing is going to complete the person inside my soul. i think that we should start a potistion to start Kid Nation again infact i will send an email about it now. i think that u guys should turn it back on.
Well, October Road may be canceled but we are not giving up!! LISTEN UP ROADIES!! Massive letter writing campaign is starting. We are writing to the powers that be to arrive on June 10th, exactly 3 months from the last episode of October Road. Visit the message boards at abc.com for October Road or the yahoo group for Pay October Road Forward campaign for the full details. The time is now!! Every letter counts and a total influx of them at once will certainly get noticed. Let's do it!!!
I hope some network picks up Moonlight , cause There is so many people upset about the show . What CBS doesnt understand is almost every person that watched that show had at LEAST 2 to 3 friends that watched with them, ever heard of "watch in parties"? D ah! There was WAY more people watching then they know, I had eight people at my house every Friday. I'll miss it.
I HATE REALITY SHOWS! I have enough of reality living my own life, I don't need to see it on TV. I loved Moonlight & Men in Trees, ABC & CBS SUCK! All it comes down to is $$$$$$. It's not what the we want, it's all about them.
I should have learned my lesson with Jericho. It seems like the shows I look forward to watching every week have been cancelled. I hear the ratings are really good on some of these shows and yet they still get cancelled. Back to You, Jericho, Men in Trees (that one breaks my heart). I started watching Men in Trees in the second season thinking it was safe since it got picked up and then it gets cancelled.
How about we get rid of 50% of the "Reality Shows" and make room for some good sitcoms. I'd rather watch a well acted sitcom about a farmer looking for a wife than a reality show about it. It's getting a little rediculous.
I loved October Road, and I was also fond of Cashmere Mafia and Notes From The Underbelly. I am very bummed out by these 3 being cut I think abc is making a mistake.
The shows that I will miss are October Road,K-ville, and the only reality show I can handle Beauty and the Geek. The only shows I used to get into to were the ones that had been on a few seasons. October Road and K-ville were actually the first ones I thought looked good enough to start watching and I really got into both of them a lot. They were my favorite ones all week long. Now I'm left hanging on both of them. K-ville not so much, but October Road on sooooo many different story lines it drives me crazy! To the powers that be PLEASE bring October Road back or at least give us a finale show.
I am so sorry to see October Road go. I also liked Cashmere Mafia. October Road was the one show I would rush home to see if I had to go out. I always taped it and rewatched it during the week when crap was on the television i.e. any stupid reality show. I wish the powers that be would actually sit down and watch television sometime. Maybe they would see the great writing and character development that goes on. Cashmere Mafia was just fun to watch. Interesting Fluff, Fun Women.
i cannot believe they are canceling october road! it has become one of my favorite shows [ever!] and they are canceling it without any closure?! is ABC really going to leave us hanging with all the unanswered questions? this is absolutely ridiculous. its also very disappointing and i dont think i want to watch anything else, ever again, on the ABC network because of this. why are they pulling all the good shows off the network to make room for the crappy ones? if they really knew what the audience wanted, they would keep this show running. come on october road fans! keep writing those letters&emails to the network to show them how much we love this show and how much we want another season!
