Community's Season 4 Nabs Tricia Helfer To Play A Convention Junkie
Battlestar Galactica’s Tricia Helfer will be getting down and geeky with Abed in an upcoming installment of NBC’s Community. The former Cylon will appear in the fourth episode of Community’s final season, where she will play a fan of the fake British series, Inspector Spacetime, which just so happens to be one of Abed’s obsessions on the NBC show.
Helfer has been cast as Lauren in the half-hour comedy. According to TV Line, the former Syfy star will first be seen at a convention for Inspector Spacetime. Like the true fan he is, Abed will also be at the convention, no doubt focusing on all the glorious fanboy moments that occur at that sort of event. However, Abed is likely to be sidetracked by the gorgeous Lauren, as well as Bridesmaid’s Matt Lucas, who is also set to appear in the episode.
Helfer had a pretty big opportunity over at TNT earlier this season to star in Scent of the Missing, a program that would have followed a K9 Search and Rescue volunteer. Firefly’s Summer Glau was also attached to the project, but unfortunately, TNT eventually passed. It’s great that Helfer’s schedule was freed up enough to guest in what looks to be a special episode of Community. However, it would have been nice to see her nab a starring role, again. At least we won’t have to wait long to see her play a convention junkie in Community’s final season.
Community> fourth season will air in a new timeslot beginning on Friday, October 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
