Another Whitney Cummings Win: CBS Gives 2 Broke Girls A Full Season Order

Whitney Cummings is having a really good week, judging by this latest bit of news. The comedian had not one but two comedy series airing this fall and as of today, both of them have been given full season orders. Whitney’s pick-up was announced yesterday, and today, CBS posted good news about 2 Broke Girls.

2 Broke Girls stars Kat Dennings, Beth Behrs, and Matthew Moy and follows two women who work at a diner and decide to save up to start a business together. While one is more street-wise and dryly opinionated, the other comes from money and has a sort of privileged outlook on life. Given the series is winning its Monday night time period in key demographics (15.5 million viewers), the full-season order doesn’t come as all that much of a surprise. Still, it’s good news if you’re a fan of the show.

Comedian Whitney Cummings is the creator of 2 Broke Girls, as well as the star and creator of NBC’s new Thursday night comedy Whitney. Considering how many pilots are developed and made in the hopes for landing a spot on network primetime, it’s a victory to get one to go to series, let alone two, and she managed to do it, with both of them receiving full-season orders in the same week.
