USA's Psych Renewed For Season 7

Ts good news if you’re a fan of USA’s detective dramedy Psych. It was announced today that the series, which is partway through its sixth season, will be back for Season 7.

The announcement was made today through the Psych Twitter page, which stated simply but appreciatively, “#Psych Season 7 is coming and it’s thanks to our amazing fans! Thank you!” and through a more amusing and entertaining announcement from series stars James Roday and Dule Hill through a video that was posted on the Psych Facebook page. The announcement also includes Roday’s plea for assistance in obtaining a brown belt.

Psych stars Roday as Shawn, an especially observant man who poses as a psychic to solve crime cases. He’s aided by his best (and childhood) friend Gus, who has no fake-psychic abilities, but has proven to be a very helpful, supportive and funny sidekick.

Psych is partway through its sixth season but has been on hiatus since mid-December. It is scheduled to return with the second half of the season in February. News of the renewal means that, assuming Season 7 consists of five or more episodes (TV Guide says the order is for 16 episodes set to begin airing later this year), the series will reach the milestone 100th episode.
