NBC Sets Premiere Date For Awake, Shifts The Firm To Saturdays

There’s good news, even better news, and bad news. The good news is, NBC has set a premiere date for their new series Awake. The even better news is that we have less than a month to wait. The bad news is, this is at the expense of NBC’s The Firm, which is being shifted to a time-slot worse than Friday night.

NBC made the announcement today that their legal drama/thriller The Firm is going to be moving to Saturdays beginning February 11th, where it will burn through it’s remaining new episodes. Given the series’ struggling ratings, it’s not all that surprising and at the very least, those of us who have been keeping up with the show will be able to see how the first season ends. But needless to say, things are looking grim for the show. Speaking of Grimm...

Reruns of Grimm will air in The Firm’s old time-slot (Thursday at 10:00 p.m.) this month, and Awake will make its grand debut on Thursday, March 1st at 10:00 p.m.

Awake stars Jason Isaacs as a detective who gets into a terrible car accident with his wife and son, after which he begins to wake up in two different realities. In one, his wife is alive and their son died. In the other, his son survived the accident, but his wife died. I saw the pilot at Comic Con last July and I thought it showed real potential. Isaacs, whom Harry Potter fans will recognize for playing Lucius Malfoy, is great, as is the supporting cast.
