Starz Renews Magic City For Season 2 Before Its Series Premiere

Starz having enough confidence in a new series to give it an order for a second season before the first season has premiere isn’t exactly a new thing. The pay cable network picked up Boss for a second season ahead of its first season premiere. And new it looks like they’ve taken a similar approach for Magic City, a series that also deals with power-struggles and people dressed nicely.

Magic City takes place in the late 1950’s and follows Ike Evans (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a father and husband who owns a luxurious hotel in Miami, but is indebted to the mob.

The Hollywood Reporter posted the news, stating that Starz’ has renewed the Mitch Glazer created Magic City for a 10-episode second season. The first season of the series makes its debut on April 6, taking over the time-slot currently occupied by Spartacus: Vengeance on Friday nights at 10:00 p.m. Those who want to see the premiere sooner than that will be able to get a peek at it after the finale of Spartacus: Vengeance on Friday, March 30.
