Battlestar Galactica: Blood And Chrome Won't Be A TV Series, But There's Hope...

I know there were a lot of people who liked Syfy’s Caprica, and really took to the Battlestar Galactica prequel, but I wasn’t among them. I gave it a shot, but it didn’t capture my interest in the way the Syfy drama/reboot did. From the unauthorized trailer for the newer prequel in the works, Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome looks like it leans more toward what many of us came to know and love from BSG, mixing drama, action, romance, Cylons, vipers and of course, blood and chrome.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the series is going to happen, but from what Deadline is reporting, all hope is not lost. The site states that Syfy has decided not to move forward on Blood & Chrome as a series. The “economics” of the project may be the issue, as that’s something Mark Stern was quoted as referencing back in January when they were still pondering the fate of the William-Adama-focused project. But the good news is, Syfy may move forward with Blood & Chrome as a digital series, which is what was originally intended for the project. The already produced Blood & Chrome pilot may end up aired as a movie on the network. So all is not entirely lost here.

For those of you who want to see the trailer, which made its way online recently, here it is, courtesy of GiantFreakinRobot.com.
