Fringe Headed To Science Channel With Thanksgiving Week Marathon

Fringe fans, it’s time to get comfy on that couch and line up the snacks. Science Channel is giving you something extra to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. They’re airing a Fringe marathon that includes the complete first season, as well as a new series examining some real-life fringe science.

Science Channel has picked up Fringe in reruns and will be airing all five seasons after the marathon and into 2013. They’re kicking the schedule off on Tuesday, November 20th at 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour series premiere. After that, fans will get a couple of days off to enjoy some turkey, and then can spend Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25 recovering with day-long marathons of the first season’s episodes. Friday’s marathon starts at 10:30 a.m. and runs until 11 p.m. ET, and Saturday’s marathon starts at 11:30 a.m. and also runs through 11 p.m. ET.

Following the Fringe marathon, Science will go to regular weekly airings of back-to-back episodes every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET. Each double episode will feature an introduction by John Noble. Science Channel will also be premiering a new short-form series called The Science of Fringe that will examine things like time travel, dream sharing, and the concept of parallel universes. The new show will also feature experts involved in the real science of studying and testing theories on these phenomena.

Fringe--one of the rare shows for which fan support actually seems to have played a role in keeping it on the air--is set to end this coming January. The fifth season will wrap up on January 18th at 8 p.m. ET. If you’re not caught up or Fringe is one of those shows you have had on your to-watch list, this is a good opportunity.
