Hemlock Grove Gets A Season 2 Premiere Date And A Creepy New Teaser

A few years ago, Netflix entered the original programming realm with gusto and gumption, putting out programs running the gamut from drama to comedy. If there were any questions about the streaming service’s potential around the time Lilyhammer hit the schedule, those questions are long over. Shows like House of Cards and Orange is the New Black have already proved otherwise. This week, Netflix announced the premiere date for the second season of another of its prominent series, Eli Roth’s drama, Hemlock Grove. The service even threw in a brand new teaser to boot.

The teaser doesn’t really explain much about Season 2, but it does give us a finite premiere date. Fans can start powering through new episodes of Hemlock Grove on July 11, which is actually much sooner than you might think. Additionally, a press release from Netflix notes that the series will be available at 12:01 a.m. PT, which means all but the diehard East Coast fans of the series will likely wait until morning to begin catching the new episodes.

The wild supernatural drama starring Famke Jannsen and Bill Skarsgård ended its first season with death, destruction and the end of a few mysteries. However, it left plenty of questions unanswered, setting up Hemlock Grove for a second season. Unfortunately for fans, viewers won’t be getting 13 episodes this time around. Instead, Netflix has signed on for ten episodes of its campy horror thriller, and we even know a little bit about what will be coming in the new episodes, even if the teaser isn’t too forthcoming. Here’s what Netflix has to say about Hemlock Grove’s second season.

“Season 2 continues with the town coming to grips with the shocking massacre incurred by one of its deadliest creatures. Roman and Peter are now faced with new responsibilities and the realities that come with adulthood. Roman’s relationship with his mother (Janssen) is all but dead as he struggles with his unwanted Upir birthright and the disappearance of his sister, Shelley (Martin). Peter moves in with Destiny (Horn) and is forced to get a job after his mother is sent away. Meanwhile, in search of a new life, newcomer Miranda Cates (Madeline Brewer), embarks on Hemlock Grove with an unknowingly profound effect on Peter and Roman. And Norman (Scott), still reeling from the loss of his family, must face the harsh truths that are uncovered about those he still loves.”

While I wouldn’t say Hemlock Grove is necessarily a series you should go out of your way to subscribe to Netflix for, if you already have the streaming service, all thirteen Season 1 episodes are currently available to view before Season 2 airs.
