Chicago Fire Trailer: The Season 4 Premiere Will Reveal Casey's Fate

It’s been a few months since we’ve seen any new footage of Casey, Severide and the rest of the Chicago Fire gang. However, this week, the NBC drama released the first Season 4 trailer for the hit series, and it’s a doozy, picking up with Casey’s kidnapping from the end of last season. If you’d like to catch all of the drama coming up, give it a watch, below.

When last we left the cast and crew of Chicago Fire, Matt Casey had gone undercover with the Chicago P.D. and was attempting to help Voight and his team to put away a bunch of bad guys who were involved in a human trafficking ring. He did pretty well by removing a bug before he went into an important meeting, but then had a meeting in the parking lot with the police department and was spotted by the bad guys he was trying to gain information about. The episode ended with Dawson finding the stripper Katya dead on the ground and with Casey totally being kidnapped, which is where the new trailer for Season 4 begins.

In the footage, we also get to see a little from the other Chicago Fire cast members. It’s all very dramatic, with hugging and one memorable shot of Severide looking pretty emotional, so job well done to NBC with that.

However, a lot of the focus is also on the Chicago P.D. team, as they are presumably going to be on hand to at least attempt to get Matt Casey out of a sticky situation. I’m assuming the show is ultimately going to save Casey from the hands of the human traffickers, but Chicago Fire has killed off a character before, and the show is sometimes surprising enough that I wouldn’t be wholly shocked if the show chose to kill off a character again at some point. Still, there’s a lot to Casey’s story that hasn’t been wrapped up or explored, yet, and I would be surprised if a character were to be killed off in a police-oriented situation rather than a fire-oriented one. Plus, that would cause so many tensions with the two departments that I’m not sure a storyline of that ilk would be worth it.

We’ll find out soon enough. Chicago Fire will hit the schedule on Tuesday, October 13 at 10 p.m. ET. Spinoff Chicago P.D. will precede that episode with a premiere on Wednesday, September 30 at 10 p.m. ET.
