The Voice Confirms Its Season 10 Cast

Fans of NBC’s hit reality television singing competition The Voice should be glad to learn that the cast of coaches for the tenth season has been confirmed. Just like past seasons, the cast will be comprised of four singers of different backgrounds, with each coach working with selected contestants to try to guide them toward winning a hefty sum and record deal. Christina Aguilera has been officially announced to be returning to a red swivel chair to mentor a whole new batch of contestants. She joins fellow coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams for Season 10.

Christina Aguilera was one of the original four coaches to kick off The Voice when it premiered on NBC back in the spring of 2011, but she was absent from the series for Seasons 4, 6, 7, and 9. Aguilera’s return for Season 10 will reunite her with two of her fellow original coaches. Both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have remained in their red swivel chairs for each of the nine seasons to have aired thus far, as well as the upcoming tenth.

The fourth coach has the fewest seasons of The Voice to his name, but Pharrell Williams has been a constant on the show since joining the team for Season 7.Each of the four coaches is more than qualified to dispense advice on the singing circuit, with long resumes of accomplishments accumulated over wildly successful careers.

Christina Aguilera will be bringing her experience as a pop singer to the table. She hit the scene as a teen star back in the late 90s to join Britney Spears as a young female pop sensation. In the years since, she has won 6 Grammy awards, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and has been named by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest singers of all time.

Adam Levine will also be representing the pop face of the music scene, bringing his experience as lead singer of band Maroon 5. Singles released by the group have consistently skyrocketed in the charts, and Maroon 5 has earned 3 Grammy awards.

Blake Shelton will be representing the genre of country music as coach on The Voice. He has been named Country Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year five times, and he can boast of coaching four of the Voice contestants who have emerged victorious over the show’s eight completed seasons thus far.

Pharrell Williams represents hip hop and R&B for The Voice. He has won a phenomenal 10 Grammy Awards, and he achieved worldwide acclaim with his 2014 Academy Award nomination for his contribution to the animated film Despicable Me 2.

Although the ratings for The Voice been quietly dropping, NBC still draws in a healthy crowd for the series. Christina Aguilera’s return may impact the series in the best way, and there can be no doubt that she and her fellow coaches will bring the best out of their contestants.
