Watch Amy Poehler Spit On The Tonight Show Stage

Amy Poehler and Jimmy Fallon’s love for comedy knows no bounds. So, when the Sisters actress appeared on The Tonight Show on Wednesday night, Fallon unsurprisingly asked Poehler to play a fun game of “Truth or Truth,” which obviously offers more opportunity for comedy than your average game of truth or dare. You can watch the former Saturday Night Live performer get so into the game that she actually spits onstage, below.

To understand how ridiculous this game was, you need go no further than Fallon’s very first question. The late night host asks Poehler what her greatest fear was, and she responded without missing a beat:

Easy. Being mistaken for JLo… and then being asked to dance… and dancing better than JLo and JLo being angry. I don’t want JLo to be angry with me. That’s my biggest fear.

Poehler was totally on a role with this game, but I’m actually pretty impressed with Jimmy Fallon, who has been known for cracking up while trying to keep it together at times. Fallon was also really funny, here, but we don’t want to give you too many spoilers, as it was Amy Poehler who was pulling out all of the stops. At one point, she put on a fake accent and at another point she even emitted a maniacal cackle, and that doesn't even include the epic spit we showed you at the top of the page. Here's the full game of "Truth or Truth."

Jimmy Fallon plays games with celebrities all of the time. A lot of times the games help celebrities be a little more at ease on the late night stage, and help some a-listers to come off more like regular people. Sometimes the games are showy, too, as when Fallon will do a “Lip Sync Battle” with a popular actor or singer. However, “Truth or Truth” really works because both Jimmy Fallon and Amy Poehler are comedians and can play a silly game with a quick wit that most people don’t have.

There’s plenty more of that quick wit where it came from. Poehler has a new movie opening (with other SNL actress Tina Fey) called Sisters coming up. (It’s unfortunately in theaters the same week as Star Wars: The Force Awakens.) Fallon, on the other hand, is having a damn good year in the ratings opposite Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel. While The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon should be taking a brief break around the holidays, you can currently catch new episodes on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC. In addition, here’s what’s coming to TV at midseason.
