American Horror Story Season 6 Just Added A New Actor To The Cast

This year, more than any other, American Horror Story has kept itself in the dark and away from viewers' prying eyes, so that we may all go into the mysterious Season 6 as one unspoiled audience. We're so close to the season premiere that was can smell the death wafting off of it, and it looks like this season has officially added a "new" actor to the ensemble, as former Glee star Jacob Artist will arrive...wherever...for what will presumably be a baffling and bizarre role.

News of the actor's involvement in Season 6 came from Jacob Artist himself, but oddly enough, it seems like the powers that be may not have been all that interested in him getting all candid with his fanbase. The actor posted a picture on Instagram, according to TVLine, of a script from the series titled "Day 1." And while the image kept the American Horror Story subtitle out of view, the entire post was deleted not too long after it went up and started getting attention from fans rabid to hear new news about the show.

Considering he was actually in the possession of the script, we're going to assume that Jacob Artist is indeed a part of the crew in Season 6 and that Ryan Murphy didn't fire him immediately after taking that image. After all, if "Day 1" is actually the first script of the season, that would have been filmed months ago. Unless the creative team built some kind of time machine that lets them film things out of order and out of logic. Not out of the question, but not likely.

After graduating high school, Jacob Artist turned down an entry into Julliard to cross the country from New York to Los Angeles to be an actor, and it didn't take long to land his first big break in Season 4 of Glee, which first put him in touch with Ryan Murphy. He left the show after Season 5 - minus a guest appearance the next year - and had a couple of film roles in the meantime. Artist joined Quantico as a recurring character during its initial season, so it's possible we'll get to see him pulling double duties on TV this fall. Assuming he doesn't get killed immediately when American Horror Story Season 6 kicks off.

While Artist is the first fresh face we're hearing about, Season 6 is bringing back a bunch of the normal cast members that we all know and love. While Jessica Lange is just a distant memory, other fan favorites like Sarah Paulson will be back, as well as Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Jordan, Denis O'Hare, Evan Peters and Kathy Bates. Cuba Gooding Jr. also stated last month that he was involved in the new season.

American Horror Story will somehow make its Season 6 debut completely unspoiled on Wednesday, September 14, at 10:00 p.m. ET. Maybe then we'll finally know what this thing is actually about. You can head to our fall TV schedule to see when the rest of your favorite shows are hitting the small screen.
